Hi Mike, who did you source the guns through? i am also not happy with these as they are so out of scale it looks like that they were a "left over2 from another project or a job lot from a car boot sale also what is the reference of the ones you have used current builds

ISSUE 71 unfortunatly the ships wheel is totaly out of scale, I have taken a photo of the Victory ships wheel (1/84 scale) along side the Endeavour ships wheel (1/48 scale) the endeavour wheel is in brown:- MWG attached the following image(s): MWG BUILD DIARIES: HMS VICTORY, SOVEREIGN OF THE SEAS, SAN FRANCISCO II, HMS HOOD, HMS ENDEAVOUR LONGBOAT, HMS VICTORY X-SECTION, 007 DB5, NISSAN GTR, CUTTY SARK, RB7, AKAGI, BARK HMS ENDEAVOUR, HUMMER H1, MITSUBISHI ZERO.

ISSUE 71 Looks like the wheel has been sourced with no thought for the wheel being the correct size or authentic in any way. This is not acceptable when we are paying so much money for an authentic model. I decided weeks ago to source a authentic ships wheel made from turned and etched brass and to scale:- MWG attached the following image(s): MWG BUILD DIARIES: HMS VICTORY, SOVEREIGN OF THE SEAS, SAN FRANCISCO II, HMS HOOD, HMS ENDEAVOUR LONGBOAT, HMS VICTORY X-SECTION, 007 DB5, NISSAN GTR, CUTTY SARK, RB7, AKAGI, BARK HMS ENDEAVOUR, HUMMER H1, MITSUBISHI ZERO.

Hi Mike,
in general, are you satisfied with the quality of the parts and the instructions? Just found out that the Endeavour has been released in germany now and that is the one ship, besides the victory, I always wanted.
Gives me headaches now, whether to subscribe or not. I am infected !!!

Hi Timm Like you it is a ship I have always wanted, and overall I am glad I have suscribed to the series, the manufacturer is OCCRE which is a good producer, they just cut a few corners what with metal gun carraiges and the ships wheel. My wife gave me the Anatomy of the ship captain cooks Endeavour for christmas and I have studied it learning more about the ship, and generaly correcting some parts of the build. I have sourced new guns and carraiges Ships wheel and brass beading for enhancments. I would subscribe again, and make the changes, go ahead do it Regards Mike MWG BUILD DIARIES: HMS VICTORY, SOVEREIGN OF THE SEAS, SAN FRANCISCO II, HMS HOOD, HMS ENDEAVOUR LONGBOAT, HMS VICTORY X-SECTION, 007 DB5, NISSAN GTR, CUTTY SARK, RB7, AKAGI, BARK HMS ENDEAVOUR, HUMMER H1, MITSUBISHI ZERO.

Are the ones you sourced easy to get and fairly cheap? If so where can I get them, and the ships wheel too please. Apart from that I am enjoying the build, so far most of the parts look good and the sails are well stitched. Not sure if you know about part 101 yet, if not it's something to look forward to. Regards Dave. Current builds: The Victory (of course) The Endeavour The Bismarck Lancaster Bomber And any model kit that catches my eye Everything from 1/35 military to Godzilla and anything in between. Oh and a suit of armour. ( yes real knights armour )

SECOND SHEATHING THE HULL Hi Team, after much much paint testing and study of the Anatomy of the ship book, I am now ready to second sheath the Hull. I marked out the Hull using measurements from the book and instructions, and I am fitting 5mm less orange planking, therefore there will be 5mm more mahogany planking. this measurement is from the gunwhales down here are some photos:- MWG attached the following image(s): MWG BUILD DIARIES: HMS VICTORY, SOVEREIGN OF THE SEAS, SAN FRANCISCO II, HMS HOOD, HMS ENDEAVOUR LONGBOAT, HMS VICTORY X-SECTION, 007 DB5, NISSAN GTR, CUTTY SARK, RB7, AKAGI, BARK HMS ENDEAVOUR, HUMMER H1, MITSUBISHI ZERO.
