Very nice update Walter.

Those crowns are so small but painted very nicely. You must have good eyesight and a very steady hand.
Happy Modelling

Thanks guys!

My next task was the belfry.
Studying the plans i realized that i had to remove the forward lining of the waist we had to attach earlier following the instructions.

Then glued a smaller diameter wood stripe.

I used a 3D-laser cut belfry by shapeways but had to add a few pieces of wood.

Thanks guys!

In the last days i wanted to produce those rails/knightheads right and left of the belfry.
I thought this would be an easy job - well - it wasn`t!!

Some of those little knee-parts were already broken when delivered - the rest of them i destroyed myself when trying to carve those little knightheads at the top. So i had to improvise.

When everything was finally glued on the deck i realized (looking at a picture of the real victory - which maybe i should have done earlier)that the rails should have been positioned higher.

So - not my best work but i hope no one will know except myself.

Thanks Phil!

The deck rail at the aft of the waist was next. I deviated from the instructions as there are only two pillars in the mid-section of the rail, also the height is completely wrong.

So i shortened the pillars and put them in the correct positions.

Thanks for your encouraging comments, guys, which make me very happy - especially as they come from fellow builders whose skill i have been admiring for a long time now!

@Phil
I put the U-69 (and all my other models)aside and promised myself to first finish the Vic!
So it might be a couple of years till i resume those builds!
Greetings,
Walter

Thanks again!

So here is my next update:

I added those hammock nets to the rail before attaching it to the hull (didn`t like the sewing at all - i took several tries to get it approximately right).

Then i added the handrails around the waist - again i deviated from the instructions - running the rails as in the original plans in my books.
