Mo, Click on the picture in photobucket,on the right hand side you will have the 4 options click "direct" and it will copy it for you. then click paste in between the [img]'s. the end of the copied link should end in .jpg if you got it right. hope this helps. ________________________________________________________________________________________ Built Mare Nostrum Google Photo AlbumMatelot (ˈmætləʊ) , Matlo or Matlow noun (Nautical Terms) slang chiefly Brit - a sailor

Hi Mo, from what I can see your pics are not showing because they are too large.... They should be around 150kb, 450 x 600 pixels. Any larger then members have to download to see them....
Regards
Alan

Thanks all for your help. I have decieded not to start work on the ship, as its is 3 1/2 years since I last touched it, I have made the decision to start on a separate part of the project, until I get my skills back ( that's if I ever had any, lol ) I am going to start by making the Yardarms, As you can see on the drawing of the yards I posted earlier, The two yards shown are both marked " Main yard of the main mast " They can't be both for the same place, I will work out later which is for which. I am tackling these two first, because they are the biggest, and hopefully a bit easier to do, before I have to get out my magnifyers and miniature tools again. I have been offered a shot of a lathe, I am going to see if it is suitable for shaping the timbers.I thought about sanding them down to size by hand, Any thoughts, Mo 👍 Mo

Hi Martyn,
Just for the record, and anyone else watching, yes each yard drawing has two views, one of the timber sizing, at the top, and below the same yard with the fittings positions shown. But the drawing supplied shows the two views , of two different sized yards, both marked main yard of the main mast,

Mo, I still way off at the moment, but they might be the booms on the main mast. ________________________________________________________________________________________ Built Mare Nostrum Google Photo AlbumMatelot (ˈmætləʊ) , Matlo or Matlow noun (Nautical Terms) slang chiefly Brit - a sailor

Hi Mo. There are studding-sail booms on foremast and mainmast. No booms on the mizzen. Source: David White, The Frigate Diana.

Thanks for that Alain, But I have no idea what what your talking about, I have absolutely no idea on masts and rigging, This is going to be one hell of a learning curve. lol.

You have no idea on masts and rigging? Don't worry about this. You'll learn step by step as I did. Studding sails (also called stunsails) are used to increase the sail area in low wind. The boom is sliding within two hoops. One 8-shaped hoop of which low part surrounds the yard and a hoop fitted to the yard end. Yard end hoop: Hauled in boom: Hauled out boom and its studding sail: URL=http://www.hostingpics.net/viewer.php?id=319713img360.jpg] Lennarth Petersson, author of Rigging Period Ship Models, writes "The rigging of a period ship model is the most complex task that any modeller can undertake" Good luck!
