Next step was to mark out and fix bolt heads to the plate that the mast well sits against. Taking my inspiration from Frank Dargies 1/72 build I could determine their locations. Digging around in my spares box I used M1 bolts [1mm dia] which equates to approx. 2" in real life, which is about right. This photo shows how small these bolts are. To simulate the two different sizes of pipework within No.3 MBT I came across the idea of using some plastic sprue I had lying around. Measuring it up then scaling from 1/48 to 1/1, it comes out at around 8" diameter which is about correct for these internal pipes that would transfer water or oil.
