Thankyou Alan, HansBigGrin

Just a quick couple of pics of the lighting for the bridge, It really isn't as bright as it looks here. Nothing painted on the island yet as I'm about to tackle the etch work for this part on the weekend - so some more updates soon.

BTW, there is some light coming through the plastic on to of the bridge, this will be sorted out in due course.

Must say I am really impressed with your build. The lighting effects are really nice.

Hi Stevie, excellent work once again.... A little light bleed is a bit of a pain, will be interested in how you deal with it... would help me to deal with the problem on the Titanic when I get to that stage....Cool Cool .. Keep posting..

Thankyou GuysBigGrin - A little more work on the bridge etch, no real problems with any of this. The 1022 radar is not glued down yet as its very delicate so will be adding all sticky out bits at the latest stage possible.

Thanks again for the nice commentsBigGrin

My intention was to get all the etch done on the island structure before priming and painting but then realised this would cause problems with the masking, there is a lot of etch due to go on the main and mizzen masts plus the funnels so masking after the etch is on would be very difficult.

So, I used a black undercoat as this would serve as the black colour on the mast and funnel tops and also as a kind of pre shade, then when oversprayed with ghost grey there will be some recessed areas that will remain dark.
I have now finished the etch on the bridge and foremast, still loads to go yet thoughBigGrin

The PE sets are a must have for this kit, which would be void of fine detail otherwise. Well done Steve, looking great Cool

Thanks for the encouragement everyoneBigGrin

The island structure is nearly complete now, all etch is done but there is a 20mm gun to fit, lots of detail to pick out, a couple of radomes to paint white and a couple of decals. I also want to fit the etch fire hose reels before it gets fitted to the flight deck.

Just some pics here of how she looks now -

Steve
