I finished the anchor for the Vic and also finished the Launch. The Launch sure took a toll on my eyes! Overall I'm happy with the results. All comments appreciated. The lenses just flip up out of the way when not in use and I find them invaluable..... Hope it helps.. http://www.cornwallmodel...catalog/Lightcraft.html

Barry Hope all is well. At 51 now I have become my dad with the comments " I can't see with them on and I can't see with them off". Convinced the opticians are not there to help you to see better but to give. You expensive glasses that are only good for a week so they can fleece you again in a month or two. I went for a set of optivisor a a good few years back and gave recentkybupgraded but to be honest anything that allows better vision when working has to be a good thing. Hi Tony, I agree with you. At 50, I'm becoming my dad too! My trifocals are getting outdated and it's become increasingly difficult to see up close. Looks like time to shell out more cash for a new lens prescription! In the meantime, this magnifier will be a great help Building - DeAgostini HMS Victory, McLaren MP4-23, Suzuki GSX1300R Hayabusa, Harley Davidson Fat Boy, Lamborghini Countach

Just finished gluing the remaining ribs. I sanded everything to ensure a smooth fit. I also test fitted the lower deck.as per the instructions, nothing is glued yet.. Everything seems to be flush and square. I now have to wait as I'm missing the pins to nail the deck . I called CS and they are shipping the pins out along with the missing 12lb gun that was supposed to be in pack 18. Unfortunately they most likely won't ship till next week as it's Labor Day weekend. They assured me they will ship next week though . Oh well, it's ok as I don't want to rush this step and I can get my pin pusher that I forgot to pick up . Overall, the test fit looks good, I think. The holes for the mast do line up. I didn't notice when I took the pics that the deck moved slightly when I adjusted the jig to take the pics All comments appreciated, as always. Looks good Barry, shame about the pins but you can always get hold of a pack from a good hobby shop - they are 0.7mm x 10mm, may be faster than waiting for your replacements. Steve

Steve Thanks for the info Steve! I'll most likely do that since I have to go get a pin pusher anyway. Best, Building - DeAgostini HMS Victory, McLaren MP4-23, Suzuki GSX1300R Hayabusa, Harley Davidson Fat Boy, Lamborghini Countach

Barry All coming along nicely. Hopefully you can get your pins from a local hobby store so that you can press on with your build. Happy modelling Tony Happy Modelling

Looking great so far, once those decks are glued in, you'll really be motoring. I'm just a tad ahead of you and all I can say is make sure your ship is straight and true before committing yourself to gluing the decks. The on to planking!

I was able to make it to my local hobby store today and picked up the necessary pins and a pin pusher. I fitted the lower deck with pins, but Before I glue the ribs and place the deck beams on, I wanted to post and get any comments before going further. I want to make sure she's right before committing myself any further. Thanks for any comments and/or advice Building - DeAgostini HMS Victory, McLaren MP4-23, Suzuki GSX1300R Hayabusa, Harley Davidson Fat Boy, Lamborghini Countach
