That looks great! I've been thinking about that print also and your photos have pretty much convinced me that's the way to go. I had been contemplating your original flooring but this looks more right to me. :)

I have a question does it come with all the electroni'cs e.g. lighting and a sound board if so I think I might order four of them when New Zealand gets them.

Hi,

Loving your attention to detail,

Can I ask where you got the floor details from for printing, or would you be willing to share?BigGrin

Cheers

So my shipment of bits came from Shapeways!

New cockpit canopy to replace the sub standard issue one

You can see how much finer the details are when primered

Also cockpit bits, im going to rebuild the cockpit completely with these parts and a standard floor that I have reordered (issue 1)

Some extras for the hold area

Again the details in primer

Set about the cockpit, preshading

first top coat

Looks a bit mismatched at this stage

Nuln oil

Then dry brushed and weathered

Still needs a bit of work to finish off

Done the seats today. Primered up, sprayed the pilot seats a tan, and the other 3 black, then handpainted the cushions on in tan

Then made the pilot seats very dirty

Drybrushed tan

Made the cushions look worn using pastels

Then drybrushed silver over the raised parts for a worn look

Done some more bits, finished off some of the other 3d printer cockpit bits from shapeways

Masked off this which was a PITA, I actually cut off some of the delicate control levers to do this

These bits not so hard

Sprayed black

Same with the side bits

Dry brushed with a light grey, and silver on the edges of the black bits, the reat step parts of the sides are going to be cut off anyway, so thats why they arent painted

Picked out some of the details and reglued on the controls and painted silver

Thanks :)

So decided not to wait for my second floor to arrive and ripped my current one up and cut all the bits off, central console etc. Made a new floor print too

Stuck the sides to the cockpit and painted the inside black

Stuck all the bits in

Inner sticker ring back in with side steps sprayed grey

Pics with the nose cone back on

Damn that looks so nice... can't wait to get mine! Did you forget to put your piston rods back on before you sealed up the cockpit? :)

So my next lot of issues turned up

More hull plating sections and interior bits. Primed them all up

Preshading

Top coat

Made up a large section of frame

Decided to dry brush these parts next to each other for consistancy, you know the drill now, nuln oil

Dry brushed, only the bits that will be visible, the large plain sections wont be on the finished model
