Hi All . Just a quick update. I decided to make up the bombs yesterday ( all 16 of them ). The fit was not great as the seams over hung in places which were down the side of the bomb and at the back where the front of the tail fin is. They will take a lot of tidying up. Still will stop me getting . Thanks for looking and any questions or advice greatly received. Best regards all. Mark mark 2 attached the following image(s):

Hi Everyone . I am a bit as there should be 4 of these parts and I have only 3 so I thought rather than send of for the part I would like to have a go at making it in resin as I have never done anything like this before. Can someone advise me of the best way to go about this i.e. making a mold and what resin to use. Any help would be gratefully received. I enclose a couple of photos of the part in question. Thanks and best regards to all. Mark mark 2 attached the following image(s):

Hi Mark, sorry to hear you have a part missing... .. If you want to get into the world of casting your own parts then you may find some useful info in the 'Tools and Consumables' section of the forum... Regards Alan

Hi Mark Sorry about the missing part but it can be fixed with a moulding kit, the last kit I bought was from this suplyer and the small one should suit your needs unless you intend to do more then a larger set would be better. http://www.mbfg.co.uk/ca...ng-resin-kit-small.html
To make the mould make up a box with wood or thick card with a base that is at least a third larger than the part to be made this includes length width and depth. once you have made the box place the part inside it and then mix up the silicon rubber and pour over the part in the mould filling it up. Leave the mould to cure then you can either just remove the base and leave the sides on or remove all the box completely. After that remove the original part from your mould and then mix up some resin as per the instructions pour and allow to set. I did a tutorial a while back using a different kit and here is the link, http://forum.model-space...aspx?g=posts&t=5628
Hope this helps Andy Current builds:-C57,Zero, Lamborghini Countach, Caldercraft HMS Agamemnon,Robi,R2-D2, MFH Cobra .

Hi All . I have now sent of for a resin casting kit and now eagerly await it. I have a small update. I have managed to do the ladder that gains entry for the pilots and here is a couple of photos of the said item. The ladder and etch went together quite easily and I am pleased with the outcome. Thanks again for looking and any thoughts or questions pleas don't hesitate to ask. Best regards. Mark mark 2 attached the following image(s):

Hi Everyone . My casting kit came yesterday . So I made up a little box for the silicon rubber and mixed it up and poured it into the box with the part in the bottom of the box. Once it had cured I noticed the part had been pushed to the top of the box which is normal procedure. I then took the box apart to take out the rubber and removed the part from the rubber and then mixed up the resin and poured it into the rubber mold and after around a couple of hours I pressed out the resin part and was very pleased with the result as can be seen in the last photo. Not bad for my first attempt. I would like to send Andy a massive thank you for his help with this. Best regards all. Mark mark 2 attached the following image(s):

That is an excellent first attempt Mark, turned out really well?!!
No holding you back now that you have the knowledge as all sorts of upgrades/enhancements can be moulded from a single scratchbuilt master?!
Well done!!
