Hi all here is tonight update may I first say anyone contemplating this ship, please read the rigging instructions alongside the build instructions and dont leave them till the end, as you can plainly see I have not done that and still I've made things extremely awkward for myself, there is some rigging from the main mast to the four iron rings in the deck which now I have the belaying pin racks and the foremast shrouds in place will be extremely difficult to attatch. anyway here is where I'm at now. Ken's the name modeling's the game.

A very fiddly part of any build adding in all of that rigging but sure you will do a great job of it Happy Modelling

Lovely update on your build. The difference in the 2 ships is down to age and purpose those tea clippers were all about speed to market - getting your product home as quick as you could. The old battleship was down to having the biggest kid on the pkayground on your side (in my day that lad at school was usually called "tank") heavy, squat, slow but boy you would not want to cross him 🙀 Happy Modelling

I'm so sorry to see that Ken, I know just what it feels like from the accidental damage to my own Victory! Hopefully being plastic it might be a little easier to repair! Was it impact damage or rigging tension problems? I've had a few near misses with Victory's bowsprit and it's only half as long as it will be eventually! Best of luck with your spell in dry dock! Ouch!! Been there...Done that with my Cutty Sark Carrying it through a doorway...Thought there was clearance and bang...I was really gutted!! Quite understand the work that has to be done to rectify it though...I used two steel pins (old drill bits) to reinforce the join between the bowsprit and the bow section...Worked a treat!!
Current Builds: Deagostini HMS Victory: Deagostini HMS Sovereign of the seas. Completed Builds: Del Prado: HMAS Bounty: Hachette: RMS Titanic: Del Prado: Cutty Sark...
