Thanks Nems, I managed to fix the final blemishes yesterday after taking the pictures, so the gloss coat will be done today. I'll be using the new 2K Diamond Finish gloss from Zero Paints, I'm very excited to try it!

Any images I post on my personal builds are free to be used and shared under Creative Commons Attribution license, which means you can do what you want with them, on the condition you mention I'm the author.

Not used zero paints myself at the moment but was recently looking at the range and its very impressive.

Thanks guys, I'm almost done with clearcoating and will post some pictures this evening. It went well, of all the parts only three required some work with Micromesh to remove orange peel, and of these only onle will require stripping and starting over Blink

as I sanded through the paint on the edge. Crying

But fortunately this one won't be needed for some time yet, so I can go ahead with the build.

So... good news and bad news.
Good news is that under clearcoat, the body panels look glorious.
Bad news is that under the unforgiving light conditions of my photo box, a few areas with orange peel showed up so there's more sanding with MicroMesh in order...

Anywyay, this is where I'm at currently:

I'll be dealing with orange peel as I go now, inspecting and polishing any element that needs it. OK, so another update, I think I'm getting close now.

Bonnet and windshield lining installed, plus some other small details around this area:

It might look ugly underneath but it won't matter, apart from the bonnet lining:

Also got the last piece of photo-etch in, a small grille in the engine cover:

And suddenly... it was time to start mounting body elements on the chassis:

And last shot with the boot open:

Thank you guys for the comments. Another week have passed, time for another update! Very close to finishing now.

Small detail - I added a little bit of wash on the engine and tubing. It's a little bit more realistic this way. Very subtle, nothing fancy because these engines are usually quite clean.

Rear body element with engine cover and some details added

Rear window assembly

The doors are still work in progress. On the images below one element (x2) as it currently is - and the sequence has been like this so far:

- Primed with Mr Surfacer 1500 thinned 50/50 with Mr Color Leveling Thinner (MLT)
- Zero Paints Porsche Seal Grey for the body colour
- Zero Paints 2K Clear for the automotive gloss
- Masked and painted for the brown leather colour with Tamiya paints + MLT
- Masked and painted for the black leather colour with Tamiya paints + MLT
- Mr Paint Semi-gloss Clear to simulate leather finish
- Templates for carbon fibre made using Tamiya masking tape, cut and placed.

There are some corrections still to be done for the carbon fibre which then needs to be glossed, then numerous touchups to the paintwork need to be done, then finally it can be installed. This proved to be the most demanding element of the whole model so far.

And some overview images of the elements done so far installed on the model. It can be easily seen that more polishing and adjusting of body panel positions is in order, but I'll do it when the car is fully assembled.
