Many thanks for looking in guys.
This one is on hold now for a little while as I have a few other projects on the go, and some other ideas I want to develop a bit. I'll get back to the 'big C' soon though.
Roy.

In between a few other things, I sorted the rear wheels. All of the various parts have been made and cast for some time. They just needed painting and assembling. Roy. roymattblack attached the following image(s):

Smart set of wheels you have there Roy. Are the tyres rubber or solid cast? Happy Modelling

They are solid cast resin. I always sand the bottom of each tyre flat so it looks a bit 'squashed'. I think it helps make the model sit a bit more realistically, as if it really is heavy. Mind you, it's flippin' heavy anyway... The wheels aren't fitted yet - just testing. roymattblack attached the following image(s):

Thanks Ken. The rear wheels etc are now fitted in place and all the linkages connected. Rear shocks still to make and add. After that, the car will be able to stand the right way up, permanently. That means the windscreens and steering wheel can be added. Just the bonnet to do after that, and final details and decals. Roy. roymattblack attached the following image(s):

Many thanks Phil.
I've tried to get people to see that it's a case of 'jump in and have a go'. About 4 years ago I'd never scratch made much more than a few added details to a kit. Even now, I don't have lathes, bench drills, metal working equipment - whatever. I still work with the same tools I'm sure that everyone here has.
On a different forum, around a year ago, I offered a complete rough Lister Jaguar body shell, all the engine castings, wheels, tyres, interior... All completely free to anyone who fancied having a bash a making a 1/8 scale model with no instructions. I offered to include correct scale chassis plans, umpteen pictures, and help when/if needed.
The offer stood for a week - loads of views, no takers.
Most of the bits are now long gone on other projects.
I just wish a few others might be willing to try. It's not a 'black art' - it's just thinking 'outside the box' and working out solutions to a problem.
I just hope my plastic bashing is helpful to others.

I do not drive so for me i could tell you an engine has "lots if wires" but what they do and were they go are a mystery to me . Does not stop me appreciating though watching someone that knows how it all fits together Hope it all continues well. Happy Modelling

That would have been a great build to try Roy My Dad could do the scratch building he used to make every thing by following a plan he used mostly hand tools making various horse draw carts and ploughs it was great to watch like yours regards Phil COMING SOON =1/72 Italeri diorama`s Battle for the Reichstag and Stalingrad battle at the tractor factory 1/16 Trumpeter King Tiger with loads of extras ON THE GO= refurbishment of 1/25 Tamiya tiger 1 , amt Star trek kits and space 1999 models

As always, many many thanks for all the kind words. I'm working on the interior now - no intention of turning the car upside down again. Rear shocks made and fitted. Steering wheel has been cast, cleaned up and painted. I still need to add the Jaguar 'growler' badge to the centre but the wheel is in. A few bits of gubbins added to the transmission tunnel, but a gear lever still needs sorting. I'll probably make one and take a mould from it to cast as I'm forever fiddling about making gear levers. A small item, but a chore to make. Screen surround next... BTW - The last 2 pics are only because the sun suddenly came out and reflected on the bodywork. Looking down the home straight now. Still need to sort the screen and frame but that's nothing big. I've made a new bonnet as I wasn't happy with the fit of the first one. It's just the basic shell so lots to add before actual fitting. After that, it's just bits such as lights, handles, fittings and decals. Roy. roymattblack attached the following image(s):

Looking very good. I love the way you can just knock out a new part and make it look straightforward. Its a credit to your skills it really is. Happy Modelling
