Thanks Tony. I've made new seat belts as although the first ones were to scale they just looked too narrow to me. roymattblack attached the following image(s):

Gearbox/transmission and rear wheels etc now all sorted and fitted. The unit isn't fixed to the body yet as I still need to make some shock absorbers and fit them. After that it will be the front suspension and wheels... roymattblack attached the following image(s):

This is turning into a very nice restoration of what was in the beginning just an incomplete box of bits. Well done you for bringing it all back to life.
Nice work Roy.

Many thanks for looking in and commenting chaps. I have to admit this project is good fun. It's just so BIG, and everything is so incredibly tatty, broken, or just missing. I've made up some dummy radiators to go in the side pods and they are fitted now, along with the heavy mesh in the openings. Next will be the front suspension, uprights, brakes and wheels. Fortunately, my wife is being really good about me moving this monster into the dining room for the time being. There's NO WAY it will go on my work tables in my cave. roymattblack attached the following image(s):

It's almost big enough to make it into a pedal car... It's a static model. No R/C or anything like that.

More on this one today - getting toward the final stretch now. The front uprights, hubs and links etc are on and so are the wheels. The rear wing is next, and then an assortment if smaller detail parts. The front wing still needs the endplates but I didn't want to fit them before the front wheels et were sorted as I'm pretty sure I would have knocked them off again umpteen times... roymattblack attached the following image(s):

Looks great Roy, a very successful restoration and very well done!
Any idea how you're going to display it, given the sheer size of this!?

Many thanks for peeping in those of you that do. Another small update now that it's getting near completion... Rear mirrors added, front steering and upper links were missing so have been made from carbon fibre rod. Also, the screen is now sorted. A few small bits to add as well as the rear wing and front wing end plates. roymattblack attached the following image(s):
