Hello Guys, Thanks you for the kind words, means a lot. After couple of days break build continued. Issue 111 started/completed:- main topgallant sail sewed to yard, fitted and fully rigged Issue 112 started/completed:- cross jack yard fitted and rigged - mizzen topsail sewed to yard, fitted and fully rigged - braces added to cross jack yard and mizzen topsail yard Here I had to take off and re-fit the lifts for the cross jack yard because when the mizzen topsail was lifted up to its final position it pushed the braces of the main topgallant yard back a bit, which caused the cross jack lifts being not straight. But it was no issue to re-fit the cross jack lifts. I also noticed that the printed magazine has a type error regarding the parrel for the mizzen topsail yard. The picture shows five ribs and eight beads, but the text says six ribs and ten beads. However this typo has been corrected in the downloadable PDF guide packs from model-space.com The picture is correct, only five ribs and eight beads required. Hint: I suggest also tie the ribs/beads a bit looser compared to other parrels because of the small radius of the mizzen topmast. gingerale75 attached the following image(s): Happy building! Hello Guys, Thanks for the good comments. Issue 113 completed:- Mizzen bowlines added Issue 114 started/completed:- anchors assembled. As I'm making the painted version, I painted the stock after they glued together. I also used 0.25 mm black thread instead of the brown one. - when I started to add the anchor/mooring line I started to worry. For the four anchor sets I had four different coloured/thick threads... what the @@@@???? ... after some panicking I had a look forward in the assembly guide and noticed that only two of the anchors actually need these threads. And after I see/measured how long those two will be then I calmed down. If I cut half one of the four thread, then it still will be long enough. Phew... - all four anchors successfully fitted to the hull. Well, when I say successfully, it was accompanied with lots of swearing because the anchors was keep falling down by its own weight while I tried to fix the threads... I ended up get my wife to hold the anchors... - bowsprit yard braces added Issue 115 started:- all the bowlines added to the main and fore mast top and topgallant sails. - the 28-foot pinnace skipped, I'll make all the boats in one go at the very end. Issue 116 started:- davits carved, assembled - after fitting the brass square and the eyebolts I sprayed the brass parts with primer to ensure the black paint will stick to them. - after painted them black I assembled the davits to the hinges. I made a little upgrade compared to the magazine. Instead of using only one nail, I used two shortened nails from each side to have the heads on both side. Issue 117 started:- lower studding sail booms assembled. - similar to the davits, brass parts sprayed with primer, then they were painted black. - barrels were fitted ages ago before I started to fit the masts. - additional eyebolts added to the hull. As I have no space between the rear davits and the lower moulding at the gallery side, I fitted the related eyebolt between the two mouldings. Finish line is very close now. gingerale75 attached the following image(s): Happy building! Laszlo Finished builds: HMS Victory, HMS Victory Cross-Section

Hello All, thanks for the great comments, much appreciated. Issue 117 continued:- davits fitted and rigged - lower studdingsail booms painted and fitted - started to fit the sheets and tacks, first, to the foresail and the spritsail. Wow... this was one of the biggest challenge during the build. It was very difficult to find the balance between tightening (loosening) these threads but still not slacking and not pulling the corners of the sails inwards. Basically all four threads (bowlines, clewlines, sheets, tacks) are pulling the edge/corner of the sail inward, hence the middle bottom "wants" to peek forward. After some play I managed to find the right "tension". gingerale75 attached the following image(s): Happy building! Laszlo Finished builds: HMS Victory, HMS Victory Cross-Section

Ahoy Shipmates, Thanks for the great comments, they means a lot. Issue 117 completed:- bowlines, sheets and tacks fitted to main sail - brace fitted to main yard Issue 119 started:- rudder chain fitted - Union Jacks, St. George's Cross and White Ensign fitted Now only few flags, the 'Victory' name and the boats left to do. Question:Is it OK that there are rigging blocks which won't be used? There are some on all three topgallant mast poles and on the chainwales behind the shrouds. gingerale75 attached the following image(s): Happy building!
