the gun port frames will be sanded flush with the planking and once i have sanded all the planking i will apply a second planking to give the gunports a recess cheers benny

the cutting of all the gunports are now finished..i am not framing the upper deck gunports yet i will wait and see what comes with the build parts as these will be seen from both sides...the planking is also sanded and is smooth and is ready to receive the second planking later in the build cheers benny

Hi mate Great build so far. You've said about second planking - this build is single planked I'm afraid unless you doing second layer yourself. hi tom..thanks for your comment..yes i do know, i have ordered 37,000 mm of 5x0.5mm planking for later to get a recess around the gunports cheers benny

Hi Benny looking really good I'm not far behind you with the planking but now having seen yours I am seriously thinking of double planking what wood are you using keep up the good work

confession time ..i messed up the supplied barrels so i bought 4 more from cm,i have carved the lines in the barrels and stained and painted the rings cheers benny

hi all been a while since my last instalment..i have been trying to complete the bottom hull planking this week but dont think i will finish so i thought i would take a few pics..as i am second planking i havnt been to fussy with getting the planks spot on,but just wanted to get them flat to the ribs and curves in the right places..my aim at the moment is to finish planking get it filled and sanded smooth before i concentrate on anything else cheers benny
