Hi Gibbo: You victory is looking great especially the copper tape. I haven't gotten that far yet but I will be covering mine with copper also. Where did you get the copper tape? Best regards. Keith

Best regards. Keith Hi Keith thank you for your comments, very much appreciated, here is the link to the ebay store that i used, they sell the copper tape in different widths, my DelPrado Victory is 1:100 scale, i dont know if the copper tape i used is to scale for that model, i believe the DeAgostini model is 1:84 scale, so if you want it to scale then it might be worth asking one of the guys on here how wide the tiles are in the Victory Tile pack, i look forward to seeing it. Cheers Paul www.ebay.co.uk/usr/rythe...k?_trksid=p2047675.l2559Have a look at peter's tiling on his Victory, i think he used the tile pack, he should be able to help you with the tile size http://forum.model-space...sts&t=4197&p=10

Hi Gibbo! Well done on the nameplate! I had similar problems with the yellow, inkjet yellow ink on its own isn't bright enough (or opaque enough) to cover a dark background, the printers rely on a white paper base to allow it to 'shine' through. I think I forgot to mention that I used the white background decal paper in the end! The black ink for the background behind the letters blended in perfectly with the Admiralty black once both had had a clear matt varnish over the top! Well done again! PS In 1:100 scale the copper plates would be 4mm deep so our tape is only about a mm or so oversized, not worth slicing it down anyway! (actual size is 4ft long by 1'2" wide) Robin First wooden ship: The Grimsby 12 Gun 'Frigate' by Constructo Second: Bounty DelPrado Part Works Third: HMS Victory DelPrado Part Works 1/100 scale Diorama of the Battle of the Brandywine from the American Revolutionary War Diorama of the Battle of New Falkland (unfinished sci-fi), Great War Centenary Diorama of the Messines Ridge Assault Index for the Victory diary is on page 1

Marked & cut out the sections ready to take the new 1.2mm grating from Cornwall Model Boats, taking a saw & drill to already laid decks is a scary thing, measure ten times - cut once. Gibbo attached the following image(s): Building: DelPrado HMS Victory. Building: DeAgostini Sovereign Of The Seas.

Now that I do like Gibbo, beautiful work on those gratings... Cutting holes in a previously completed piece is always scary and your advice of measuring 10 times and cutting once is so very valuable to all newcomers.... .. Keep up the great work, will be following.... Regards Alan

I built the grating first and then built the frames around them, i found it a lot easier to stick the frames onto paper first, i marked two lines at 90 degrees to make sure they are square and when dry cut them out,and finally the new frames ready to go on. Blimey Gibbo, that brings back some frightening memories Glad to see you are going for the improvements on your Victory, the gratings look great, be aware though that there are a couple of divisions in the forecastle gratings. Well done again, nice to see another Del Prado in the mix. Regards Alan England expects that every man will do his duty.
