A pleasant surprise email today, from Modelspace offering a 20% discount on complete kits for forum users! I have lots of kits on the go, but have contemplated buying the D51 Steam train kit for a while now and have persuaded my wife to buy me the complete kit, using the discount code for Christmas. 2016 is going to be a busy kit building year!!
Regards Jon

Yeap looking forward to it. On a different note, i am building a 1/12th scale Lotus 49B F1 plastic kit at the moment, all was going well, i sprayed the body, with red and white acrylic paint, to the kit drawings, fitted the decals, all looked great, then i decided to use a lacquer clear spray. BIG MISTAKE and a Stupid one! It reacted to the Acrylic paint and destroyed the finish, including the decals. New parts ordered>

Hi Jon The clear coat that you used was it an aqueous one [water based] like the Hard to get over here gunze one. Although another clear coat you could have used was Pledge 'Klear' multi surface wax I think Sainsburys were restocking it. Regards Andy Current builds:-C57,Zero, Lamborghini Countach, Caldercraft HMS Agamemnon,Robi,R2-D2, MFH Cobra .

Yeap, thanks for that, luckily only the body cowl is affected, new parts ordered, from the Uk distributor, they were very helpful, but parts need to come from Japan.

Thanks for the comments, i am enjoying the MP4-4 build as-well. Any idea if the Shelby Mustang build is going to be re-launched? It was stopped here in the UK after the 5th issue!! It is an iconic car, i would love to complete!

Well pack 12 is now completed. As we all know, the instructions are printed wrong for this pack, thankfully the official build diary on this forum, shows the correct assembly for this stage. Regards Jon TheFlyingCouch attached the following image(s):

Well pack13 now completed, the chassis is awesome. I see there are still some errors with the instructions printed regarding the Rear suspension. Best advise is check out the official build diary if in any doubt. Regards Jon TheFlyingCouch attached the following image(s):

Hey man nice build, jealous of all the kits you have, but I have a strange feeling once my kid is out of daycare I may end up with a few more myself. An alternate products you can use instead of that water based marker is a product called Gundam Markers. They are used for panel lining, which is basically what you did to the speaker. They come in three colors. Grey for white and other light colors. Black for dark colors, and red for yellows, reds, and browns. DeAgostini kit builds:
Millennium Falcon: 18% Complete Shelby GT-500: 28% Complete Thunderbird 2: 13.75% Complete
