Paint looks awesome. I'm currently building a 1:12 MP4/6. I've got most bases covered except paint, im nervous about the 2 tone masking.
What paints did u use and what procedure did you follow to apply to body/sample?
Very curios to see result once decals added and cleared.
keep up the great work.

Hi was used with halfords gloss white tamiya TS orange paint and halfords clear laquer,
Of course the shop halfords wouldnt be in your part of the world but any automotive spray you could use,
I am now debating if i should use these paints instead of some ofther specific paint I bought for the Malboro red.
and also the masking tape i used was from TAMIYA, i have to say its amazing stuff, I have never had a good line before from using any other tape,
I have thought that although many others may disagree with me I may apply decals OVER ther clear coat not UNDER, everytime I have tried under the decal always bubbles and I dont want to risk a fantastic job to make that tiny bit better :)

TS36 I think but I'll double check, it's a beautiful orange in the sun and a deep red in dull light beautiful!!!

That is a pretty amazing finish for someone who was not sure what to do a few weeks ago and needed all that advice! Well done Mark and if you can do that with a rattle can then I would ditch the airbrush and would even go as far as saying that's as good as a car body repair shop can do to! Spencer

Also Spence, my ex wife once told me when my son was born, sometimes you just have to do what you think is right and stop asking for advice on things that deep down you know the answer to, I think deep down I knew how to do it but but was constantly looking for reassurance. Once again thanks for the compliments it means a lot coming from a pro modeller

Your right Mark you do just have to jump in and get on with it and thank you for the compliment in return! Be very careful when it comes to painting the panels etc as there is a lot of work that needs to be done prior otherwise your going to find that when it comes to attaching the parts together your going to have to remove paint from certain areas. Looking good Mark just a quick question regarding the gloss white on the top canopy. I know your going to be putting Tamiya fluorescent red next but why gloss and not a white undercoat then the red and then a clear coat? I'm sure there is method to your madness so to speak Spencer

Never thought of that, will that affect the finish in a bad way do you reckon?

I thought you had already tried it in your earlier posts with the car body test sample? Spence
