BigGrin Hi All

The first planking has now had a small amount of filler here and there, then been sanded back and a semi-smooth finish achieved so the 2nd planking has something to grip on when its glued on, still a little dusty but will soon clean up. Overall Im quite happy with the finish and do think that the hull has some nice lines to it, compared to the Trinny hull she looks like a racing hull to me Drool LOL Love . Next its the gun ports and the fitting of the forward bulkhead and Quarter galleries. More soon

Regards

AndyCool

BigGrin Hi Alan
The marking out of the ports should'nt be to much of a problem as a full size template is provided with the plans but there is still the job of cutting them all outCrying LOL Laugh .
I think I will also do what keith Julier recomends and cut a correctly sized template out of plasti-card based on sizes of the gun port covers for the final marking to keep all the ports the same size.

Regards

BigGrin Hi All

The paints I ordered came today WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOTDrool Love LOL. Now I have the paint the first job was to make up the round houses, these were made by sticking the half round formers onto the forward bulkhead and then planking them and finally a coat of French Blue, the first of the three shaped caps was also added the other two were painted and then fitted when dry. The door handles were made up from the wire supplied and the four etch hinges were all painted black then added to the bulkhead. There are two shaped brass strips still to be added to the top half of the bulk head but they are added later.
The next job was to plank the gallery upper deck, I dry fitted the rear part to aid in getting the planks correctly positioned then when dry sanded back and used the wash to stain as before then used Danish oil.
The gunport template was next cut out and fixed to the hull as per the instructions and the ports lightly penciled in. I next made up a plasti-card template using the gunport lids as a template and remarked the gunports to there correct sizes, bigger at the bottom row smaller next row up. The last job today was the marking of the Main Wale,to do this measurments were taken off the plan from each gunport to the wale line and then finally marked the line on the hull.
I now have 52 gunports to carve out, happy days. More soon.

Regards
