Thanks Chris and Alan. I find it amazing how well Deagostinis method works to teach how to do all this. Phase 14 Got to fill up some gaps and repaint on the deck knees, but the phase is mostly done. I'm delaying the sea chests until the next phase.

Have to agree with you. Think you find the instructions provided with DeAg kits are probably the best out there. A lot of work goes on behind the scenes to ensure the instructions are the best they can be and long may that continue..... .. Keep the pics coming, doing a great job... Regards Alan

Gandale wrote: A lot of work goes on behind the scenes to ensure the instructions are the best they can be Absolutely. The other wooden ship I'm building is the Hood and while Hachette is doing a great job their instructions are not quite on the level in regards to pointing out things that can go wrong and clarifying how parts should be aligned. I've had to point out to two German model building colleagues they had ribs put in the wrong way around in their builds of the Hood, which would have caused them major problems with the next delivery.

Some first (unfinished) designs for the sea chests. I need to find some inspiration for variation. It's surprisingly hard finding pictures of ones that are not either - obviously entirely new, - "replicas" grounded in the land of Fantasia or - belonged to Scrooge McMoneypants

It is an occassion for celebration. It is now exactly 3 months since I started this build to the day and I have officially reached the half-way point. Issue 15 Supports for the pump well were added as well as the next deck beams and planking for the lower gun deck. I'm still not all that big on cutting gun ports, but at least it went better than last time. I must say "Thank you" to DeAgostini. When I started this, I had pretty much no idea what I'm doing and they managed to teach me so much in so little time. In some ways I'm still looking at this build going "I? built that? Me? No way!" So that's a nice feeling.

Looking pretty fine to me I was in the same boat as you with not having any idea of what I was doing when I started my Trinidad. I think you're doing a pretty awesome job of it
