Hull frames are now complete other than some parts for the stern. the hull has now been faired, there is significant fairing required at the bow and a little at the stern but not much to do all in all.

I have put the first hull strip in place. This model is single planked so these will form the outer hull. The first one to go on is the stern strip that terminates at the stern gallery. Two of the ribs have lugs that locate in rectangular holes in the ply hull strip. One of my lugs did not line up with the hull strip being out by 4mm. I spent quite some time checking everything but cannot see any issues with the ribs alignment. I have settled with widening the lug hole. (you can see in the photo below the widened hole is the stern lug)

Once in place I have checked its alignment with the deck and all looks spot on so I am happy, for now.

Many thanks for looking chaps...

pleased to say the fit of the other parts was flawless. the biggest challenge is the shape of the bow but plenty of clamps help get that correct. There is a small part of the ply yet to be formed these need to be bent and meet in the middle I will do this using steam when the other side is installed.

With the for hull sides in pieces in place I fitted the remaining ply parts at the stern.

The irony of this kit is that the real ship was clad in Iron only up to deck level, traditional wood planking being used above the upper deck. the kit is single planked but above the deck is strips of ply. would have been nice to have plank on Frame above the deck I think.

some pics of progress

PS. if anybody goes to see the new film Victoria and Abdul (which I can recommend its great). you may spot a CGI modified HMS Warrior, her masts and bulkhead shape is very unique and easily recognisable.

I'm liking this build very much Jase. It will be interesting to see the bow take shape, that's quite a lot ply to get into shape. Look forward to your next update.
Happy building

Taking nice shape, though surprised it's not in a keel jig as there's a lot of length in the keel and over hang either side of the keel clamp, which will allow flex when setting the ply and hull planking.

Many thanks everybody for taking the time to leave a comment.

@ Tomic, A build board is being used for construction but due to its large size I am having to move it to take pics. Thanks for the advice, certainly don't want a banana shaped WarriorBlink but all good so far.
