About time for an update me thinks. Left off at the end of stage 31, so starting stage 32 the smoke box door lock is fitted. The lock bar is a tight fit to get in, but fit it does. (Pic 1) The two locking levers fit together and are then positioned through the door. (Pic 2) With the locking block added the lock is complete. (Pic 3) Two front hand rails are then added and the lock operated to complete stage 32 (Pic 4) delboy271155 attached the following image(s): COME BACK GUY FAWKES "YOUR COUNTRY NEEDS YOU"

Hi, Stage 33: Deals with the lower boiler section, just have to fit the two boiler joint plates.Pic 1 Stage 34 things to do: Fit the handrail brackets. Pic 2 Connect the boiler halves and add the safety valve. Pic 3 Fit handrail brackets to the smokebox, then connect the boiler to the smokebox with the joint ring and the superheater header. Pic 4 Stage 35: Add the safety valves to the rear boiler section. Pic 5 Attach the rear boiler section to the main boiler.Pic 6 Well that`s all for this update. Some fiddley things done, but with care not difficult. Next update soon. Regards delboy271155 (Derek) delboy271155 attached the following image(s): COME BACK GUY FAWKES "YOUR COUNTRY NEEDS YOU"

Hi All, This update will bring things up to where I am at this moment. It will cover Stages 36 to 37 and conclude pack 5. These stages cover the building and fitting of the Firebox, but before that you fit a control valve lever to the rear of the boiler. Pic 1 Stage 36 then continues with the following on the left side of the firebox: Fit four firebox plugs (one arrowed). Pic 2 You then fit some more handrail brackets and a jointing plate, then fit the lefthand side of the firebox to the boiler. Pic 3 Stage 37: the righthand side of the firebox is a near carbon copy of the left side (Stage 36)except there are only three firebox plugs. Pic 4 The righthand firebox side is then fitted to the boiler and firebox left side. Plus the ATS system and generator are fitted. Pic 5 This concludes Pack 5 of the C57, so onwards to Pack 6. Will update when something to show. Regards delboy271155 (Derek) delboy271155 attached the following image(s): COME BACK GUY FAWKES "YOUR COUNTRY NEEDS YOU"

Derek Very nice update to your build of this kit. I do like the pre-painted finish which looking at your pictures seems very well done. Hope it all continues well. Happy Modelling

Hope it all continues well. Thanks for looking in Tony, Only draw back with pre-painted is that you need to be extra careful with tools, ie screwdrivers and glue spread as both can cause serious issues. That said, as long as you are careful then you shouldn`t have any issues. Working with cotton gloves will also reduce the fingerprint issue, but I hate working in gloves, so will be having to clean off the smudges later on. All said this is a nice easy build as long as there`s no rushing. Hope to post another update in the next couple of days. Regards delboy271155 (Derek) COME BACK GUY FAWKES "YOUR COUNTRY NEEDS YOU"

Hi All, Sorry for the delay in an update, but "Photobucket" got in the way. I think I have now replaced every pic I`ve posted in the last 4+years. (Unless you see otherwise. Then please PM the info of where my pic/pics are missing) Anyway to PB, here`s an update. I left off at the end of Pack 5. I have now completed pack 6 and will put up some updates over the next few days to cover that.So the first thing to do is fit two bands around the main body of the engine. (Instructions detail placing very well). TIP: Tighten the bands a bit at a time and check position of the band to make sure it`s straight. Also follow the fitting measurements to the letter/number or the bands will get in the way of components to be fitted later. Pic 1: Shows first two bands fitted. Pic 2: Shows all bands fitted. Next we work on the "Dome" and sand spreader pipes. Bit fiddley, just take your time. Pic 3: The parts. Pic 4: Parts fitted. Now the boiler steps are made. Fit two steps to each bearer and watch the orientation. The locating tabs are different for top and bottom steps. Pic 5: Steps fixed to bearers. Pic 6: Steps and bearers fixed to boiler. Pic 7: Now fit the Top boiler step. That`s it for now. Next update tomorrow (DOH later today), which will conclude "Pack 6" Happy Building Regards delboy271155 (Derek) delboy271155 attached the following image(s): COME BACK GUY FAWKES "YOUR COUNTRY NEEDS YOU"

Hi All, Thanks to those who looked in and the comments received. Well as promised here`s the next update. The next part of the build is to enhance the dome with the whistle, control valve axis and the sand box lid. Then fit the dome to the boiler and add the control valve rod. Pics below are added in that order. The final part of this update is the fitting of the sand pipes. The last pic for this update shows the three pipes fitted to one side. This is replicated on the other side. That`s all for now, SWMBO is calling on my time, so more later. Thanks for the positive comments Time for next update. (starting stage 42) In this stage I`ve made up the discharge reservoir and attached it to the left firebox base. Lower pipe ommitted at this stage as vunerable to damage, will fit this as late as possible. Also fixed the bleed valve to the right firebox base. All shown in first pic. The firebox bases were fitted to the main part of the build. Pics 2-3. Stage 43: Building up the backhead. Now the pics will tell the story, that my eyes and glue skills failed a bit with the very small parts. I`ll have a paint repair session later. Anyway, lots of shiney brass type bits are added to the backhead and some very nice black detail parts. The backhead is then fitted to the firebox. Pics 4-9. One more update later will close pack 6, but I`ve already started pack 7 so more to come. Happy Building Regards delboy271155 (Derek) delboy271155 attached the following image(s): COME BACK GUY FAWKES "YOUR COUNTRY NEEDS YOU"

Ok to put closure on Pack 6, here`s the update. This part of the build fits running boards and hand rails to both sides of the model. Brackets to support the running boards are loosely fitted first. White running board supports are next, with the running board fitted last. These are all screwed together and then the brackets tightened. Inbetween the handrails are fixed in place. Lost a few scraps of paint off the rails getting them through the brackets, but no problem touching them up later. The oil pump box is fitted to the front right running board as well. Pics below show the detail. Regards delboy271155 (Derek) delboy271155 attached the following image(s): COME BACK GUY FAWKES "YOUR COUNTRY NEEDS YOU"
