Thanks guys for peeping in on my waffle. An advantage with vac forming bigger parts is that it's relatively easy to make another bit if one goes pear-shaped. (figuratively speaking) A few details bits and louvres added. Fixings to keep it in place on the car next, then prep and paint. Roy. roymattblack attached the following image(s):

The new bonnet against the old one - destined for the bin. After a bit of tweaking the new bonnet now fits neatly although the wheel arches needed adjusting slightly. In grey primer, ready for wet sanding. Roy. roymattblack attached the following image(s):

Hello chaps. A bit more sorted on this one. The new bonnet has had a few wet sanding/paint/wet sanding sessions, and now has two topcoats and a clear. Just some polishing in a week or so, then the decals. The front fittings - grille, lights etc will be added sometime today I hope. Windscreens (three of them...) still to make and fit and then it's the final fiddly bits. Home straight now. roymattblack attached the following image(s):

That is a large model Roy. Are you keeping this one or is it a present? Looks very nice and what a lovely shaped car they designed. Happy Modelling

Thanks Tony. It's 1/8 scale - about 22" long.
It's already sold. I started it as a model to keep but a previous buyer of one of my cars wants it.
I'm sort of glad in a way - I really am out of space to keep these giant cars however much I enjoy building them.
Roy.

Roy. I can see it would take up a lot of space. Someone is going to be very pleased with this one when they get it that is for sure. Happy Modelling

Many thanks chaps. A few bits added at the pointy end... How it looks at present - screen parts etc still so make. The last pic shows a 1/43 C Type on top of the model to give a sense of the size. roymattblack attached the following image(s):

As always, many thanks you guys. It's nearing completion but still a fair bit to do. Screens, tail lights, bonnet straps and handles etc etc... Decals on but 'maybe' not finished... I'm thinking about altering a few. Looking like a car now. Roy. roymattblack attached the following image(s):
