i don't know how i missed your build mald, it is an excellent piece of modelling, the brass guns look a thousand times better, it would have been nice if they guns came like that with the option to paint. really really great work. (i would put a smiley here but there are none to do your work justice). Come on you Jimmies

Many Many thanks for your kind words of encouragement , There are some stunning builds on this forum . To read comments from fellow builders who know how much time and effort goes in to a build such as HMS Victory is really appreciated . A great deal of my work is inspired from the forum build diaries . Thanks again and Happy Building . Mald

Best regards Bam Hi Bam The Dummy cannons I searched through E Bay on a weekly basis over the last year or so , I managed to get a great deal . Under £20 for 94. The complete Barrel i bought from my local model shop for 60p each ,they are easy to obtain ,you only need 22 so i just paid the 60p rather than wait for some on e bay . I bought the Corronade Barrels of Cornwall models , just finished fitting all of the cannons to the deck will post pictures soon . Thanks again for the kind comments . Mald

Mald!On a natural wood ship the brass cannons look so much better than the black cannons. This is a First Rate ship of the line, something to be really proud of, in your first post in this diary you said, Quote:I decided from the start to go for hopefully a museum quality build With the fine work you are doing, you will have your museum quality build. Hi Mald, Your build is simply awesome, your interpretation of the Gallery is a real upgrade to what is supplied, and well done for getting rid of those hideous yellow acetate windows, that served no purpose, and always did detract from the overal look of the Gallery ,you have also achieved a nice depth to the Gallery windows. The balance you have achieved from stem to stern is wonderful. The fire buckets and boarding pikes look fabulous, yours is a build I never get tired of viewng. Congratulations on a job well done Kind Regards Mike MWG BUILD DIARIES: HMS VICTORY, SOVEREIGN OF THE SEAS, SAN FRANCISCO II, HMS HOOD, HMS ENDEAVOUR LONGBOAT, HMS VICTORY X-SECTION, 007 DB5, NISSAN GTR, CUTTY SARK, RB7, AKAGI, BARK HMS ENDEAVOUR, HUMMER H1, MITSUBISHI ZERO.

Consistantly "brilliant". I really like the natural look of the wood, a top notch build the gallery looks superb. I have only seen Victory builds' with the background painted, usually shades of blue, yours is the one to go for with a natural wood finish. 10/10. Best regards, Steve..
