PACK 11STAGE 35 – ASSEMBLING THE RIGHT RADIATORPICTURE 31The Parts Supplied this time are: Right Radiator A Right Radiator B Right Radiator C Radiator Hose A Radiator Fan Guard Radiator Fan M2 x 5mm Countersunk screws x 4 PICTURES 32 & 33First stage in this part of the build is to place the radiator fan onto the radiator. PICTURE 34We then press fit the radiator fan cover over the fan. This is then secured from behind using a M2 x 5mm screw. PICTURE 35We then fit Radiator part B into Radiator part A. This assembly is then secured using 2 M2 x 5mm screws. PICTURES 36 & 37We now take Radiator part C and press fit it into the previously assembled Radiator unit. This, along with any unused parts are then stored away until called for in a later part of the build. birdaj2 attached the following image(s): Happy Modelling

STAGE 36 – ASSEMBLING THE LEFT FRONT HUBPICTURE 38In this section we receive the following parts: Left Front Hub Brake Disc Front Wheel Shaft M2.6 x 3mm washer screws x 3 Brake Duct Connector Front Brake Duct Hose PICTURES 39 & 40We take the left pivot arm and fit this over the peg on the front left hub. The 2 parts are secured using one of the m2.6mm x 3mm screws. We are reminded in this stage to be careful with the LAMBOURGINI decal on the brake calliper as its possible to scrape this delicate decal. PICTURES 41, 42 & 43We take the brake duct connector and fit the longer section into the brake hose. The other end of the brake duct is then press fitted onto the tab on the brake hub. This stage would also have us adding the brake disc to one of the previously assembled wheels and taping this in place but for now I am leaving mine packed away for use at a later stage. birdaj2 attached the following image(s): Happy Modelling

STAGE 37 – ASSEMBLING THE RIGHT FRONT HUBIn this stage we receive the following parts: Right Front Hub Brake Disc Front Wheel Shaft Brake Duct Connector Front Brake Duct Hose PICTURES 44 & 45Very similar to stage 36 but working on the right-hand section rather than the left so no real reason to go over what in effect is an exact build stage again. And that completes all of my outstanding packs and brings me back up to date with the build. As mentioned at the start of this article I had some “nerves” over some of the build stages but on reflection the issues were my own mind convincing me they would be difficult stages rather than them being difficult in their own right. birdaj2 attached the following image(s): Happy Modelling

PACK 12 - LAMBORGHINI COUNTACH LP 500S – 04th January 2020 Well this pack caused some major confusion. The parts look very straightforward and simple to put together but when I made a start, I found major differences between the parts supplied and the part pictures in the build instructions. In the end I resorted to building this Pack using the official build diary as that. From what I could see neither the build instructions supplied in Pack 12 or the official build mentioned the differences with the supplied parts. From what I can see it does appear it’s the printed assembly instructions that are incorrect. STAGE 38 – ASSEMBLING THE LEFT REAR HUBPICTURE 1The parts included this time are Left Rear Hub Brake Disc Rear Wheel Shaft Rear Upper Arm Left Rear Brake Duct Connector Rear Brake Duct Hose M2.6 x 12mm screws x 5 M2.6 x 8mm screws x 9 M2 x 4mm screws x 7 PICTURES 2, 3 & 4Using one of the M2.6 x 8mm screws we pass that through one of the holes in the Rear Upper Arm. We then screw this into place on the side of the Rear Left Hub, and its at that point my confusion started. PICTURES 5 & 6Picture 5 is from the build instructions and it clearly shows the brake calliper on the hub being on the right side of the hub. Picture 6 is the part I was supplied in the correct orientation as the previous picture and you can see the calliper is on the left side. And this matches the part in the official build. PICTURES 7, 8, 9 & 10Pictures & & 9 show the printed instructions and 2 issues. First being the calliper location but also the spacing of the 2 holes that the Left Rear Brake Duct Connector will be fixed into. In the build instructions these 2 holes are shown as diagonal to each other. In pictures 8 & 10 you can see the supplied parts have these next to each other (which matches exactly the pins on the Connector. PICTURE 11So, following now the official build the Left Rear Brake Duct Connector is screwed into place using one of the M2 x 4mm screws. We then press fit the Rear Brake Duct into place. birdaj2 attached the following image(s): Happy Modelling

STAGE 39 – ADDING THE LOWER WISHBONE TO THE LEFT REAR HUBPICTURE 12The parts included this time are Left Drive Shaft Left Lower Suspension Arm Rear Wishbone Bracket PICTURES 13 & 14The printed instructions are still incorrect with Picture 13 showing the brake calliper on the right and having orientated my part correct (Picture 14) the calliper is on the left. PICTURE 15Following along from the official build we screw the Left Drive Shaft to the Rear Hub using 2 x M2 x 4mm screws. PICTURE 16We then fix one side of the Left Rear Lower Wishbone into place using one of the M2.6 x 8mm screws. PICTURE 17The other side of the Left Rear Lower Wishbone has the Wishbone Bracket screwed onto it using on of the longer M2.6 x 12 mm screws. When all of these [arts are in place its important to ensure you have not overtightened the screws and have left enough slack so the parts can move. PICTURES 18 through 21And just to round off this section again a couple of the build instruction pictures plus my assembled parts showing how the brake calliper is incorrect in the build instruction pictures. birdaj2 attached the following image(s): Happy Modelling

STAGE 40 – ASSEMBLING THE RIGHT REAR HUBPICTURE 22The parts included this time are Right Rear Hub Right Rear Brake Duct Connector Brake Disc Rear Upper Arm Rear Wheel Shaft Rear Brake Duct Hose PICTURES 23 & 24Again, we have a mismatch between the supplied Rear Hub in terms of the calliper placement and that shown in the printed build instructions. PICTURES 25 & 26This shows the parts as per the official online build and the part I have been working with. They both match exactly. All we need to do here is screw the Rear Upper Arm as we did in the previous stage. PICTURES 27 & 28Again (Picture 27) the printed instructions have the holes shown for the Right Rear Brake Duct Connector on the diagonal when in fact the part supplied has these 2 holes on a different orientation. PICTURE 29Again, just a case of screwing the Right Rear Brake Duct Connector into place and then press fitting the Rear Brake Duct Hose into place. These parts are then stored away until required again in some future part of the build. birdaj2 attached the following image(s): Happy Modelling

PACK 13 - LAMBORGHINI COUNTACH LP 500S – 01st February 2020 Can you believe its February already? Were does the time go to. Pack 13 has now arrived but its still left me confused over the rear suspension as I will explain later. STAGE 41 – ADDING THE LOWER WISHBONE TO THE RIGHT REAR HUBPICTURE 1The parts included this time are Right Driveshaft Right Lower Suspension Arm Right Rear Lower Wishbone Rear Wishbone Bracket PICTURE 2The Right Driveshaft is not used at this time so its important to identify it for when its called out later so that the left and right parts are not mixed up. PICTURE 3The instructions still show the brake calliper in a different position to that on the actual part itself. This has taken me “an age” comparing my build parts to the official build and the printed instructions. Still working on the basis it’s the printed instructions that are incorrect. PICTURES 4 & 5This part sees the right drive shaft being fitted to the right hub using 2 x M2 x 4mm screws which we recover from stage 38. PICTURES 6 through 9We now install the right rear lower wishbone and the wishbone bracket. Picture 9 shows this sub-assemble completed. birdaj2 attached the following image(s): Happy Modelling

STAGE 42 – FITTING THE SHOCK ABSORBERS TO THE REAR HUBSPICTURES 10 & 11The Parts included this time are Underbody Panel B Internal Hoses x 2 Brake Duct Hose Connector L Brake Duct Hose Connector R M2.3 5mm washer screws x 3 PICTURE 12We need the rear shock absorber bracket from one of the previous stages. PICTURE 13We line up the hole in the arm with the matching hole in the bracket and fix this together using one of the M2.6 x 12mm screws. PICTURES 14 & 15We then line up the shock absorbers with the holes in the hub and fix these in position using the M2.6 x 8mm screws. Its important not to overtighten these screws so as to allow free moveout of the suspension parts. PICTURE 16This process is carried out again with the other hub section and when complete we are left with the completed assemble as seen here. birdaj2 attached the following image(s): Happy Modelling

STAGE 43 – BEGIN ASSEMBLING THE UNDERBODYPICTURE 17The parts included this time are Underbody Panel A M2.6 x 6mm self-tapping screws x 29 PICTURE 18We need to identify the left- and right-hand brake duct hose connectors. Quite small to see but each part is lettered “R” or “L” PICTURES 19 & 20Taking underbody panel B from stage 42 we press fit the brake hose connectors and secure these from underneath using M2.3 x 5mm washer screws. Pictures 21, 22 & 23The internal hose parts (orange) are press fitted over the 2 pegs that can be seen arrowed in Picture 21. When in place they are visible through the holes in the underside of the body panel (picture 23). PICTURES 24 through 26We now push together the two body underside parts. These are secured using 4 x M2.6 x 6mm self-tapping screws. Its at this stage that we now get to see more or less the full size this model will be. birdaj2 attached the following image(s): Happy Modelling

STAGE 44 – ADD THE CHASSIS FRAME AND REAR SUSPENSION TO THE UNDERBODYPICTURES 27, 28 & 29The parts included this time are Chassis Frame M2.6 6mm screws x 8 Interior Light Seal A Interior Light Seal B The Chassis is extremely well packed for shipping. Inside the card box the chassis frame is plastic bagged with foam on a couple of crucial points. Picture 30We place the underbody assembly upside down. PICTURE 31We then drop the suspension bracket into the matching space in the underbody ensuring the fit is accurate as indicated by the White Arrows shown in this picture. PICTURES 32 & 33We then take the Lower Rear Shock Absorber Bracket from stage 31. This sits on top of the rear shock absorber. PICTURE 34The brackets are then screwed into place from beneath using 2 x M2.6 x 6mm screws. PICTURES 35 & 36We then push the duct hoses onto the connectors. PICTURES 37 & 38Taking the left and right lower suspension arms we need to ensure the tab arrowed in picture 38 is uppermost. PICTURE 39The suspension arms are then placed into the chassis frame. They are very loose at this stage so care is needed on the next section. PICTURE 40The chassis is fitted to the underbody and secured through 5 screw holes. This part of the assembly is quite involved as you need to ensure the lower suspensions arms are not misaligned as you try to get all of this section together. And its at this completion stage that my confusion is realised. PICTURES 41 & 42Picture 41 is my completed section and you can see the brake calliper and orange hose face towards the front of the car. Picture 42 is from the printed instructions and I think you can see the orange duct hose faces forward but the calliper is towards the rear. PICTURES 43 & 44Picture 43 is again my assembly and you can see the embossed R indicating the RIGHT-HAND HUB with the brake calliper in the Right (next to the embossed R). Picture 44 is from the printed instructions and the embossed R is in the same place as my part but the brake calliper is on the left. I have looked at the Official Build and that matches mine so I am going to assume that is correct, but all the same it caused me some doubts with the build. That’s all for this pack so everything gets stored safely away until the next time. birdaj2 attached the following image(s): Happy Modelling
