If you post a build diary I'll definitely watch and if I can offer suggestions as you go along which will help improve the model, I certainly will.
One really simple upgrade you could try would be to get a can of spray-effect leather in dark grey, and repaint all the interior trim. The Bond DB5 didn't have black seats etc...
Roy. Thanks for that Roy. Just ordered up a selection of wet and dry papers from amazon. Will have a play with a couple of the first parts to see how i get on cleaning those back to bare metal. Tony Happy Modelling

Carl, Your second shipment looks very like my first shipment. I will be starting a diary on the DB5 this weekend, detailing the work I am doing to strip the bodywork and re-paint. Don't worry about the logos, I hvae already spoken with Mike Lane, his Superleggera logos are going to be metal and chromed, accurate in height to the ones on the real cars. He is also doing the DB5 badges. I hope he's going to be doing a lot more than these, but he has assured me he will have us all covered and to go ahead and strip the paint if you are able. I am lucky in that where I work, we have a wet grit-blaster that I can use during my lunch. I have already used this to take the bullet-proof shield back to a really smooth bare metal. I plan on doing the bonnet and roof panel today and tomorrow, having already easily removed the logos on the bonnet. one of them was either curved, or on at an obvious angle. Once I have all three current pieces stripped, I will use the Alclad gloss black undercoat and let that dry until properly cured, not working on the colour-coat until I have all the bodywork pieces up to scratch. It's even worse than that, I'm afraid. Not only did I have the 'delay' e-mail, I then got sent this message. Eaglemoss Customer Support wrote:Hi Gary, Thank you for your patience whilst we resolve the IT issues with your collection. Good news, they are fixed and we are ready to go, so fasten your seatbelts! However, you may have noticed that due to our excitement about the launch of this collection, we sent you delivery number one and two together. In order to continue the adrenaline rush of building this iconic car, we need to set the record straight, which means we need to charge you for the second dispatch which was sent with your first delivery. The second dispatch costs £39.96 + £1.99 (P&P) however, as a gesture of goodwill for this error, we will credit your account by £11.95. This means we will charge you just £30. We are going to apply the charge on Tuesday night. Once this has taken place, your next delivery will be in approximately 3 weeks’ time. From everyone on the DB5 team, we would like to say a big thank you for your patience whilst we fixed these technical issues. Rest assured we are now back on track and can’t wait to send you your next instalment of this iconic collection. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact customer services at: 0191 490 6421 or email us at: customercare@eaglemoss.co.uk. Yours sincerely, The Eaglemoss Team Unfortunately, I have still not received anything except the first two (2) issues. They are extremely slow at answering e-mails, but I replied to them explaining the situation, and asked the following. Coser wrote:I have only received issues 1 and 2 in a single delivery so far, so would like to know when I can expect my second and third dispatches.
Thank you The reply I got was this. Eaglemoss Customer Support wrote:Hi Gary
I hope this email finds you well,
We made a mistake and in the pack that you received, there were six parts of the build-up instead of two, that is why you received that email.
At this moment we need to invoice customers as the parts 3-6 supposed to come to a different price, we are aware of all the inconvenience that we may cause so we have added £11.95 to your account as a way to say sorry for the mistake
The system error has been resolved, and now we are ready to keep going with the normal schedule.
If you have any other question please let me know
Kind regards,
Eaglemoss Customer Care Well colour me impressed! These people couldn't find their backside with both hands and a backside detector! Shoddy paintwork, and it looks like customer "we don't" care can't crowbar it into their craniums that I only have 2 issues so far. I'm calling them later to cancel my subscription. Found out last month I'm a "High-Functioning Autist", and today that even on anti-depressants I'm borderline Clinically Depressed, so as much as it pains me, I'm done with this collection. As it was such an iconic car, to me at least, it would have been the prized centrepiece to my collection. This would have cost me as much as the Delorean has currently (£2K+)as I would have spared no expense with the aftermarket items. But it is not to be. I hope they don't do the same to the "Ecto 1" later this year, as that would be my next 'go-to' given that the Barris Batmobile seems a non-starter. And now we find out that the DB5 has been cancelled. Such a shame that this build was beset by such problems. I hope they can get past this and will eventually release it again with paintwork done by another company. Sadly it had far more than just paint problems. Who knows though, maybe it will get another release at some point.

The Delorean packs for postage were put together - with the DB5 promo - before it was cancelled. Some people are still getting the DB5 flyer but it is useless.
Please bear in mind, Eaglemoss are NOTHING to do with DeAgostini.

Eaglemoss have now fully refunded all of the payments made against this cancelled partwork to me. So for me its sad they cancelled it but to be fair i am not out of pocket so just need to wait for something else to appear that appeals. However as much as i was tempted by their ecto 1 which apparently arrives in the UK in january i think its more than likely i will be giving that one a miss. Tony Happy Modelling

Steve1701 wrote:well done tony, and we start again, if it comes out again would you start again? Steve Good question. I think if it came out tomorrow the answer would be no. If they were to relaunch it it say 2 years after the ecto 1 finishes then i might consider it but would be asking lots of questions before i signed up such as have they correct the terrible paint finish. Still feeling a bit annoyed to be honest as i went ahead snd purchased material for the carpets and managed to get a small grey leather which would have been ideal for the seats (allow my skill level may not have been up to doing a good job on those).
