Hi Andy and Yurato, thank you for your replies, when we sand the top of the bow block to the correct angle we are told to continue this slope along the top of the bow planks, my question is how far should this slope continue, sorry for not making myself clearer

 Hi Ger C I see what you mean now, this is what I did, your planking /strakes should be higher than the hull formers at the bow and should follow a slope down to where the hanger will be built. On my build this meant that around the second and third former the planking was still 2/3 mm higher than the hull formers, if you take them right down to the formers this creates a large dip that wont look right instead of a smooth angle. A little packing on these formers cures the gap problem. Another way would be to trim the ply deck so it fits inside the hull strakes and sand back to its profile as it sits on the hull, what your trying to achieve is a straight slope back with out any dips.
