[size=6][color=darkblue]Thanks all for the comments and for looking in.

Rapidly moving towards the next major assembly point. wheels are finally cleaned up and painted, but have not been clear coated as yet.

one of the fenders is now complete the other is in the process of having the pinstripes added. There was a lot of work involved in getting a good smooth finish to the paintwork. prime, sand, prime, micro-mesh, paint, micro-mesh, paint, micro-gloss and finally two coats of gloss coat. it has literally taken weeks one way or the other.

Wow!
I see the fine line tape in the background. Did you paint the red lines or use the fine tape?

Hi Christopher, Its a product called Trimline, comes in several colours. I certainly don't have the patience to do that by hand BigGrin

Thanks for looking in

This is looking fabulous. I love it when someone takes one of these older kits and gives them new life.I actually got to meet the family that owned Aurora models when I worked on Long Island. We had a good discussion about modeling in general and lamented the loss of what was a very innovative and special company. It would have been even better if they would have had some kits laying around but alas they were all gone.

Pushing on with this build. The second fender has now been finished and they have both been mounted on the chassis along with the now completed wheels. Interestingly the front and rear wheels are different fewer spokes at the front and different hubcaps, which I have to say I had never noticed in the film before! The luggage rack has been mounted on the rear of the Chassis and the gas tank slung underneath it.

The firewall that connects the hood to wood body has been fixed in place and the body test fitted to ensure there are no issues.

The next step will be to add the wing assembly to the Chassis before fixing the body and building up the hood and grill. The wing was primed with halfords yellow primer and then painted with Humbrol Yellow 69 from a rattle can. Once the red sections are added this wilt be given a matt clear coat.

Thanks Trev for your kind words.

A quick update, Front and rear number plates are done and ready for clear coat and final assembly.

The side wings are finished and sealed with a matt clear coat. The fit to the chassis was quite poor and needed wighting down while the glue cured to keep them in place. The wing tip rotors will be fitted later.
