Hi,

a bit more progress, a say a bit, not much to show but it was a few hours work.

To access the bunk bed of above the cupboards, PE foot steps are available in the PE kit. I gut these these out and filled the tabs off.

The long thin parts have three bends in, which were bent ensuring the right side and directions were executed.

the parts were cleaned with acetone nail polish remover and triangular supports were super glued into place.

As I had previously removed two cupboard doors, I fabricated a walled cupboard for the hole out of 2mm styrene, glued the steps into place and gave the whole assembly a coat of grey primer. The wooden blocks are for support and will not be seen once the assembly is glued into place.

Thats all for now.

Regards
Claret

Hi,

more progress with sanding down and cutting out plastic for the instrument panel walls and fitting PE.

The 'reactor' wall with PE in place.

Also one side of the instrumental panel walls fitted with PE and the other side not started as a comparison.

Hi All,

Finally for now the bulk head walls and bunk bed and cupboards were primed and them airbrushed Tamiya dark sea grey.

The bunk bed walls above the cupboards, the flat area around the reactor round windows and sides of the other bulk heads are to be painted a lighter grey.

The storage area between the cupboards is dry fitted only. I have some 1mm brass rod on order to fit a coat rail.

Thats all for now.

Regards
Claret

Hi All,

Update on my progress.

Found that the ladder in its stowed position, did not have any support at the top of the ladder. PE bracket fitted that supported the base, as shpwn in the photo's.

Checking stills from the DVD, there is support for the ladder at the top. I duly drilled holes in the ladder side, the circular top frame structure and used staples to act as the hinged supports. Looks much better now.

I have cleaned and primed the two fire extinguishers supplied with the kit, but looking at stills from the DVD, they are no where to be seen. Not decided to fit them now or not.

Thats all for now.

Claret
