It was one of thse Fridays today where I had the day off and nothing to do, so I spent most of the day at the bench First I did was to spray the outsides of the corridors with Vallejo German Panzer Grey primer as I was starting to think they were too black. I sprayed up the inspction pit. The colours used in the order used were; Vallejo Black Primer for the base Tamiya XF63 German Grey - Light dusting from an angle Tamiya XF65 Kure Grey - Light dusting from and angle Tamiya XF66 Light Grey - Light dusting from and angle Tamiya XF19 Sky Grey - Light dusting from and angle Vallejo Black Primer - Light dusting from and angle In the second picture it has had its gloss coat applied ready for a wash to be applied, then weathering; I then started to glue all the cushions on, I am holding off on the arch way cushions at the moment, this is because I lost one and I want to wait to see which one will not be seen before I put them all on. The cushions were sprayed with Tamiya XF55 Deck tan, I then sprayed the edges with a light dusting of DOA Grime Paint (Empire Strikes Back shade) then a highlight of DOA Grime (A New Hope Hope shade) Once all the corridor parts were assembled I also decided I was going to change the floor colour to Vallejo German Panzer Grey to break up all the black, the walls are still black, so out came the masking tape. I also dusted the middle of the walkways with Aluminium to simulate the constant footfall back and forth. Once this is all dry I will apply a gloss coat and then do a wash to tone down the aluminium.

Spence Thanks mate, I have to agree it looks better clean, it actually leaves me a dilemma now, I really like the clean look of the corridors but don't think it goes very well with my dirty hold area. I think I am going to redo the hold area in a much cleaner style with just some cargo dust where I place all my cargo containers, them maybe a little weathering around one of the inspection pits

It will certainly be different to what everyone else is doing, me included. Just giving everything a fresh new coat of paint will do the job with a few subtle marks here and there as you say. Look forward to seeing whatbyoundo mate Spence

Thanks guys, I dont actually have any spares but think I might just go ahead and respray the hold parts to match my new clean look. Today I applied all the small pads to the corridor rings and got them in, it looks even better now. I still havent sealed it up I am waiting to see if any other ideas come along Hopefully you can see the highlighting effect, its quite subtle and I had to play with the light to try and get it to show effectively

Stephan, I did start off going for the dirty look as you will see from my hold area, although that is now going to be re-worked with a much cleaner look.

colson wrote:So what issue are you up to at this point to have all the corridors? This is up to issue 25, there is another bit of corridor that goes on the other side of the main hold, it's only a small on but there is more cushions to do. I don't have the last parts, they are on there way in issues 26 - 29

Great photography. Some of your shots look like full scale set construction pics. :)
So your work holds up really well up close.
