I bought the museum collection decals (some of them) for this build and I'm at the point where the monocoque sections have to go on. Pictures of the car show a slight "golden" or "yellow" hue to the carbon of the front and rear sections. I've started with the rear bulkhead part to allow some experimentation. I used a light spray of Tamiya TS84 metallic gold before adding the decal. Followed by Tamiya smoke and finally flat clear. Difficult to photo but I'm happy with the result. Now this was a bit of a challenge! Plenty of Microsol/Set, a little heat from a hair dryer and the occasional curse. I sprayed a couple of coats of Tamiya Smoke to get a darker appearance.RM1 attached the following image(s):

The monocoque was masked and sprayed with tamiya metallic gold TS84. Museum collection carbon decals added which was a bit tricky with such large pieces.RM1 attached the following image(s):

I then sprayed Tamiya smoke until it was darkened enough followed by flat clear finish. It's difficult to catch the colour with my camera but in "real life" it has just the dull gold finish that I wanted ( honest ! )RM1 attached the following image(s):
