While waiting for package 10 to arrive, I’ve decided to make a couple more improvements to the interior.

(1) Covered the two ashtrays with Bare Metal bright chrome self-stick foil and made covers from thing black plastic with pebbled surface (it was part of a wire spool). The bigger cover has a small “lip” which I reproduced by scoring and bending the edge.

Installed the ashtrays; they look much better now.

(2) The booklet for package 05 has a good shot of the bucket seats & seatbelts, so I made padding for the lower seatbelts from 10 mm (0.4” wide) strip of Velcro fabric and also made two paper labels (soaked with gloss enamel for strength) on the seatbelts (they have number 1281 printed on them).

Glued all these to the seatbelts using multipurpose glue and lightly glued the padding to the seats so that the belts drape more naturally.

Package 10 should be arriving in about a week or so.

A few more diorama details added:

1) An automobile fire extinguisher. I found on eBay a gas lighter/LED light combination in the form of a small fire extinguisher. It was almost perfectly to scale for a medium-sized (6 kg) automobile fire extinguisher. I removed the insides, added some paint, Bare Metal foil, a custom-made waterslide decal of a 1970s Italian fire extinguisher (estintore) label, a foil Lambo logo, a wire safety pin (pull ring), and voilá, we have a nice-looking fire extinguisher!

2) I will put a small acrylic display case next to the car model which will hold some Countach-themed souvenirs:

- Tamiya Lambo Countach LP500s 1/24 scale model kit from the 1970s (the box is reduced to 1/8 scale from an actual kit, with parts (laser-printed on cardstock and wrapped in plastic) and assembly instructions inside;

- Pack 01 of DeAgostini Walter Wolf Countach kit (laser-printed, used several layers of cardstock for thickness);

- Walter Wolf Countach wall calendar;

- a couple of different Walter Wolf Countach posters, flat and rolled (in plastic cover);

- a Walter Wolf brand cigarettes pack (just ½ inch tall).

Pack 10 has arrived at last, will be working on it soon.

Replying to davetwin's message from 28th May. Insanity (in a good way!) runs in the family :-) You should see my wife's amazingly detailed cakes (and it's more of a hobby rather than a full-time job): http://www.ellascakes.net/

Pack 10 is completed!

Stage 31. Rear shock absorber heads got a spraying of gloss lacquer and connected to the frame making sure they are moveable.

Stages 32, 33. Front shock absorber heads got the same treatment and connected to the suspension arms along with anti-roll bar link rods.

Everything fits well, no problems.

Stage 34. The ignition coils are nicely formed but the whole assembly is rather sparse on details. It will be partially hidden from view by the car body but enough of it is visible so that I wanted to add more details. Pictures were hard to find and required some digging. Ultimately, I used bits of bead & electric wire of various gauges, a couple of pieces of plastic, some foil, enamel paint and custom Bosch and car information plaque water decals to significantly improve the appearance of the assembly.

I also added a couple more incremental changes to earlier parts, such as custom Exide battery sticker to the accumulator battery, and improved fire extinguisher.

YES, above that's an ashtray with a Cuban cigar and a smoldering Walter Wolf brand cigarette in 1/8 scale. The cigarette is 0.4" (10 mm) long.

See also all other paraphernalia on small acrylic stands (like large displays stands in 1/8 scale): car manuals, Lamborghini driving gloves, a jaunty driver scarf, information plaque (will be installed on a stand), and Countach posters, wall calendar, and DeAgostini ( :-) ) and Tamiya scale models.

Crowd control rope barrier will also be ready soon.
