I have finished the hold floor pit, not fitted it in permanent yet as I still have the EL wire to fit, fitted a green LED build under the floor to give some idea.

Hi Stephen The depth of the pit is about 1.8 cm, not put the EL wire in yet, it's just a glow from an LED bulb to give some idea.

Thanks you Stephen & Ade for your kind words Ron, I use mig oils straight onto the hull, a process that takes some time, building up the different colours over several days, letting each part of the process dry before starting the next part. As for the lighting, I have made my own, all the lighting inside the hold area, cockpit and external hull is all made by myself using LED bulbs and fiber optic cables. Thanks Mark

Fantastic weathering, and really cool original additions! The weathering is what has me the most nervous. I can't imagine getting mine to look half as good. Making it completely yours. I wish my words were compliments from a master, but they're just the awestruck excitement of a novice.

Many thanks for your kind words Tunko, when I started this project, I never in my wildest dreams thought I would get it looking anywhere near how I have, but I have a lot of people to thank on this forum and the confidence to experiment and make this my own. If I can do it, anyone can. Just had a look at you're build, and I don't think you will have any worries looking at what you have achied already.

Looking great my friend... keep up the great work! Can't wait to see how you tackle the interior! It seems to be the bane of my existence so far. Everytime I turn around I find something new that I need to modify or fix! But I can almost see a light at the end of the tunnel so I'm starting to get excited!

I started the mandibles a few weeks ago, painting all the parts letting them dry between each process. I’ve also been going over some internal hold and corridor parts as well as draw up an inner turret area which I’ve started today, so many things going on all at once, I spend about half an hour each time I decide to work on the falcon debating which bit to do first.
Finished the lower part of the mandible, and hopefully have it completed over the next couple of weeks.
Here’s a few pictures of my progress so far.

That rust looks amazing! Are you using weathering pastels? If at first you don't succeed,
maybe you should skip the chainsaw juggling...

I've been playing around with the inner workings for the turret, not as easy as I first thought, but I seem to have the base in place and fitted now, so I'm off to Find all those old broken pieces of model I have from years gone by to see if I can find anything decent to work with. Love the way you made those pipes look on the mandible. Nice bit of detailing on the top edge to give that worn look! Might have to use that for my own build! :)

Okay, so far all I have done this week is mess around trying to build the inner turret workings and making sure everything fits in place when done, eg.. The hold area which buts up to the frame and the gun turret sitting snug on top. This was more difficult than I first anticipated, but thanks goes to "Warthog" as I remembered he,d done something similar. Anyway, whilst on holiday I was reading a stars wars book with all the inners of various ships in, and found this photo of the Falcon, which gave me the idea. A week later after fidling around with sizes and what old scrap model parts I had, I have finally got some progress to show. Still a lot more to do, detail painting etc.. Also have some Forrero Rocher gold foil wrappers to use on the back panels so it looks more space orientated as in the picture.

Thanks Stephen I hadn't got any other wheels suitable, but I've got some mesh I have previously used on wall grills in my hold area, thought I would mould them over a pencil and inset it to the inner wheel to make it less Lego like. Mark
