Many thanks for all the kind words you guys.

It's been a fun build - not a lot more to go.
My problem is though, when a model is nearing completion, that's when I start to lose interest in it and look for whatever is next...

So - you'll understand if it now takes an age for me to make the screens and add the last fittings.
Mind you, the new keeper will be on my back before long so I ought to get on with it.

Roy.

A determined effort today.

Screens all sorted and fitted. Two small end pieces to add.
Rear view mirror to make, tail lights and bonnet straps.

Maybe complete this weekend...

YAY...!!!

Roy.

Its fantastic Roy.

What i like about your building is you can take a piece of "scrap" and make it look like a real thing were i would take a piece of scrap and turn it into something that would still look like a piece of scrap (and not a very good piece of scrap).

Just looking at the dashboard (do they still call it that?) and with the right close up picture taking out the room you would think it was a car brochure you were looking at. And its that for me that sets you apart - i could never get anything to look like it was real.

Happy Modelling

Many thanks you guys. Incredibly kind words.
At the end of the day, I feel that model making is more about what you can 'invent' yourself. That way, it costs peanuts.
Yes, you have to buy (or make) the main model, but the extra's are what you can dream up.

Ok - it's sad...
When I go to bed, I often get myself off to sleep by thinking about a particular 'problem' with a model, and imagining the most ludicrous solutions.
I always try to think 'bits of wire - scrap plastic - old bottle tops...'
(Probably influenced too much by Thunderbirds in my childhood)
Sometimes it's the most daft idea that turns out to be the easiest, and the best.

I'll be moving on to the E Type roadster project next. Not sure which particular car (any suggestions?) but it will very probably be a race car or a lightweight of some sort.
Still undecided.

Roy.

As always chaps - sincere thanks.
It's been great to have some of you following this lump.

The beastie is nearing the end now.
Just a few bits to add.

I have to say that from some angles, the C Type was just such an awesome shape...

Finished at last.

This one has been a long build - around 18 months. Mainly due to me continually putting it aside.
It's been fun though and I've learned a lot along the way - ways to do things, ways NOT to do things...

Many thanks to all those who have peeped in and commented.
