Thanks Alan, Jase, Andy and all who looked in. So the finish line is just round the final bend. I`ve attached some pics of where I`m at below. The wings are not finally fixed yet as one still needs its bracing wires and "Oh boy" are they a pain. I`ll fix the wings very near to the end as I wan`t to put the decals on the fuselage without the wings getting in the way or causing handling damage. As you can see the torpedo and main undercarriage are also ready for final fitting, while the rear wheel and prop are in the coolest room I can find for the paint to dry. So the to do list: Brace wire the second wing Decals Bring it all together Have a large cold beer to celebrate completion. Hi All Made a start on the decals today while waiting for some of the bracing wires on the second wing to fully set. Not a lot but a step nearer completion. Regards delboy271155 (Derek) delboy271155 attached the following image(s): COME BACK GUY FAWKES "YOUR COUNTRY NEEDS YOU"

Thanks for the comments every one and those who looked in. I`m very grateful. This update shows the second wing rigged and the fuselage decals completed. I`ve still not permanately fixed the wings as decals on them to do next and then its the big coming together. Then a little surprise. Turned my attention to detailing the prop now. Main colour is semi gloss black with flat yellow tips. Easy enough, but then each tip has a decal to put on a thin flat red stripe. Thing was that the decal wasn`t just the red stripe. It was clear from the tip of the prop until you got the red stripe about 1/3rd of the way down each blade of the prop. So I decided I wanted to paint the red stripes, but how to get them even and in the right place? Here is my solution: Pics below. Trim the decal very close to its edges. Clamp the decal to the tip of a prop blade. It did damage the yellow paint as can be seen, but thats been repaired. Next slide a piece of 2mm masking tape under the decal so it lines up with the red stripe on the decal. Repeat with a second piece of masking tape for the other side of the red stripe and remove the decal. Paint the stripe between the pieces of masking tape. Remove the tape then repeat for the other two blades. The final pic shows the prop installed and Tamiya were very clever at this point as they give you a piece of rubber tubing that was hidden inside the built engine and the pin of the prop holds firm in this tube allowing the prop to spin but not fall out. SIMPLES Left to do: Wing decals Then bring the final bits together Regards delboy271155 (Derek) delboy271155 attached the following image(s): COME BACK GUY FAWKES "YOUR COUNTRY NEEDS YOU"
