The Wingnut Dambuster version only gives the Packard V-1650-1 Merlin 28.
The HKM bomber version only gives you the RR Merlin XX option for the B.Mk.1 - which already seems to have Mk.II radiators - will be interesting to see if its engine is correct for being an XX?
Hello guys,
I'm Nige, the guy who puts up all the videos on Youtube regarding this kit.
I'd like to start this post by saying at the time I did my initial review I was pretty naive about the subject. Since that time i have learned a lot more regarding the plane and have found more and more errors with the kit. If you follow my videos you'll see the errors there. I have made up a playlist to save you searching.

You'll also see I've done some work superdetailing the cockpit, and boy oh boy, does it need some work.
As has been said so many times, the final product does not portray the time spent developing the kit.
I should also mention there is an error in my terminology on the radiators. It would appear I said the kit has MkII radiators, which is clearly not the case, the MkII had radial engines. The kit has the radiators as fitted to Just Jane, which I believe is a MkVII? They are larger than the rectangular radiators fitted to all the BI/III's so in turn the intakes on the engines are larger.
Guess what.. the HK kit has the larger intakes, just like Just Jane. But.. not only are they inaccurate in that way, but they are inaccurate in that they are smaller on the outboard engines than they are on the inboard!!
Another issue that annoys me on the model is the omission of landing lights, well, we get extra landing lights in the port wing, but they are all simply scribed circles ion the surface, and dont even have the correct shape where they hinge down. Come on, even the Revell and Airfix 1/72 kits have moulded bowls with clear lenses to go on top!!
If HK had simply up scaled the airfix kit, they would have ended up with a superior product.
Anyway, rant over.. go take a look at the videos. I'm also doing a vlog on the Revell 1/72 kit and have corrected the engine intakes and the dihedral.
