Nice update Derek, looks like you have plenty to do. The tyre man in picture ten looks a little like me at the moment after I pulled my back last Friday. Mark

Hi All, Many thanks for all the recent views and comments. I have today set up the wheels of the smokin dragster on the test bed to see how well they run, ie vibration and/or how straight the wheels run. I`m quite happy with the results, especially as the axle is way longer than it needs to be, a little light grease may cut down on some of the noise but I have an idea of a great musical soundtrack to overcome that if it can`t be toned down. A video clip that will be longer than the burnout time can be viewed on the following link: https://youtu.be/u0_jcnwoSVQ
Now working on the power supply for the pair of smoke generators that I will test and video them under the rotating wheels shown in the link above. If that`s a success then I have to make it all fit to the car body size, but that`s a step too far at the moment. Regards delboy271155 (Derek) COME BACK GUY FAWKES "YOUR COUNTRY NEEDS YOU"

Thanks for looking in and the comments Phil, much appreciated. I`m really enjoying this build, its different, I`m having to think things out and take accurate measurements to make sure things fit as needed. I`m also having to try and keep things near to the original kits (just) in case things don`t go to plan. At this stage I don`t think that`s going to be the case. There may be the odd set back, but I don`t envisage anything occurring that can`t be dealt with. Regards delboy271155 (Derek) COME BACK GUY FAWKES "YOUR COUNTRY NEEDS YOU"

Video looks great Derek. Having an idea and putting it together is not easy at times, especially when things are this intricate. Your doing a great job. Mark

Hi All, Firstly, thanks Mark for your comments. Now for the update I`ve been most worried about having had a smoke generator go pop, which did turn out to be faulty and refunded. The moment of truth. Will the smoke follow the revolutions of the wheel/wheels. I may have to put in some inner wheel arches on the models body when it comes to the final construction, but for now I`m seriously happy with the first running smoke test. I can up rate the smoke if needed. The smoke generator was on minimum power input. and "Yes I was holding my phone the wrong way round". See video in link below: https://youtu.be/b-_EExR4hVc

This is going to be great. It all seems to be working as you hope. Can't wait to see the end result.

Hi All, Just a small update today as I`ve been prepping the pro-fuel dragsters body for the paint job. Applied first coat of main colour and left for an hour. Went back to take a look and have got a half inch run on one side. I`ll give it 24 hours to harden and the rub it down and give second coat. Hopefully flat all over this time. For todays update I have fixed the rear wheels of the pro-fuel dragster along with a rear tank and connecting pipes. All can be seen in the attached pic. More soon, stay safe. It’s never nice when you get the runs. Hopefully it will sand down without too much problem. The dragsters taking shape very nicely. Mark

Mark Hi Mark Thankfully it was not a bad attack of the runs. I think that one of the body panel lines had just trapped a bit of paint, which when held for spraying looked good until I turned it upright to rest and dry. A light sanding and micromesh finish seems to have sorted the issue. I have now given a second coat, then run out the workshop pronto. Will see how it looks later. Tony Hi Tony, That was Mark and myself jesting between us. I`m fine, thanks for your concern. Next week I intend to get both smoke generators running on a wheel each and I will also be running the test at a higher voltage to see if more smoke looks better. Thanks for looking in. Hi All, Another update on the Pro-fuel dragster body. Managed to get rid of the small paint run with a bit of careful work today and got a much better coat of paint on it. So attached are two pics of the main body. Now to be left for a couple of days before the addition of the decals. EXTRA update: Added three more pics of the body in place.
