ISSUES 75 to 80 Hi everyone the next build log will cover issues 75 to 80 this is covering the fitting of the brass etch to the plywood deck fitted last time, I have followed the instructions supplied and have used simple tools with simple processes all my work on the Hood has first time modelers in mind. First job is to prepare each brass deck by cutting them out of their frets and filing all brass "burs" from the parts then clean them in nail varnish remover or white vinegar and wash in warm soapy water drying them with kitchen towel, here are some photos:- MWG attached the following image(s): MWG BUILD DIARIES: HMS VICTORY, SOVEREIGN OF THE SEAS, SAN FRANCISCO II, HMS HOOD, HMS ENDEAVOUR LONGBOAT, HMS VICTORY X-SECTION, 007 DB5, NISSAN GTR, CUTTY SARK, RB7, AKAGI, BARK HMS ENDEAVOUR, HUMMER H1, MITSUBISHI ZERO.

ISSUES 76 to 80 Hi everyone, in this session I cover the painting of the Brass etch decks, I have not used an air brush as I prefer to use spray cans they are cheap no mess, and no wasted time cleaning utensils. I do realise there is a place for airbrushes (I own one) but in my opinion I have not needed to use one so far, so if you are a first time modeler I believe this kit keeps the cost down on tools required. The primer I use is Tamiya grey Wood/Metal primer. The paint I am using is Humbrol Acrylic, for the light grey I am using Sea Grey 27, and the dark grey is Tank Grey 67, the reason they are a good match and I can get them off the shelf at my local outlet (I also have both colours in humbrol enamel pots) All the parts have been cleaned with nail varnish remover (you can use white vinegar)and washed off in warm soapy water. Here are the photos telling the story:- MWG attached the following image(s): MWG BUILD DIARIES: HMS VICTORY, SOVEREIGN OF THE SEAS, SAN FRANCISCO II, HMS HOOD, HMS ENDEAVOUR LONGBOAT, HMS VICTORY X-SECTION, 007 DB5, NISSAN GTR, CUTTY SARK, RB7, AKAGI, BARK HMS ENDEAVOUR, HUMMER H1, MITSUBISHI ZERO.

ISSUES 76 to 80 Next task is to fix the painted brass to the ply deck for this job I am using SERIOUS GLUE it sticks well and it gives me time for getting the plates in the right position. I marked in pencil the position of all the brass deck parts, here are the photos:- MWG attached the following image(s): MWG BUILD DIARIES: HMS VICTORY, SOVEREIGN OF THE SEAS, SAN FRANCISCO II, HMS HOOD, HMS ENDEAVOUR LONGBOAT, HMS VICTORY X-SECTION, 007 DB5, NISSAN GTR, CUTTY SARK, RB7, AKAGI, BARK HMS ENDEAVOUR, HUMMER H1, MITSUBISHI ZERO.
