I am Sean.. concentrating on just the one at the moment.. when I get bored then I'll start to do the other one. I can't imagine it will look any different than some of the other builds the guy's are doing really.

Do you plan on pimping the engine warthog? If so what do you think you can do to it?

Now that's a really good idea, I'm sure you will work your magic and do a sterling job what ever you do to it. Does that mean your going to cannibalise one of your other models to get the engine?

Hello to all, although I have been a member I have only just been able to access this site. Its nice to know Im not the only one who has had nothing from DeAgostini apart from a binder but nothing to put in it. I intend to use Alclad High Polished Aluminium on the model to try to replicate the very high finish seen on these cars.
I have also decided to use Scale Motor Sport 1:12 scale Kevlar decals on the suspension units. I have built every Tamiya 1:12 F1 car from the Lotus 49 to the Mclaren MP4-6, some I still have.
Any tips you chaps have I like to hear, Im never too old to learn.

Hi Warthog, Must say you have got me thinking big time! Stunning build so far! I dont think i'd be able to even get close to the amount of effort and time your putting in mate but I have got some great ideas from your build so first and foremost, Thanks! I saw your post referring to the carbon decals application, and you mentioned possibly doing a video because you cant really stop and start taking pics etc, Is that something you could possibly do and upload to a well known video streaming site? Id be very interested to see how you do it! Also, absolutely fantastic idea about the engine!! I'm considering doing that now, but Ill wait and see! By the way, the most detailed picture I can find in a short search on the net is this on - http://www.f1fanatic.co....7/08/merc_fo108t_f1.jpg
I dont know if Anyone has been down to Mercedes-Benz World, but I hear theres one on show there, So if there is one as I'm led to believe, Im off down in the next few weeks so Ill take a lot of pics for you with my DSLR. If not, Im hoping to go to the MB Museum in Stuttgart next year while Im over for the Belgian GP, its only 2 hour drive from Spa, Im sure they will atleast have one there!! Thanks for sharing with us, think we're all very privileged we have someone whos dissecting the model this much! Building the McLaren MP4-23
