Hi there peoples, I have been mostly making the ships long boat. This is the first time I have actually constructed one of these, I usually get them with preformed hulls and the like. This is how it looks before the extra detailing and paint is applied .

This is where it sits on the almost completed hull. Not much to do on this now, waterline, deadeyes, the rudder and of course the beak which I am still looking for something to build it in. Looks like I,ll have to get on the net and have a search .

Hi Again Harty, Looks a very good build. I think I am going to enjoy this when i get back to it. I have noted that your windows did not fit and will have a closer look when I get up to it. I have put a pic of my stern gallery on. How does it match up with your wooden one? Cheers Peter catman275 attached the following image(s): completed..... Hi there Peter, just be wary when doing the side windows cos you are using the etch and it will be harder to adjust if you get it wrong, specialy the little bits that fit between the windows other than that it looks good, a lot sharper but the same design, I like it

Hi there Zeb, I am just going to work between R C and the Surprise. Can get on with a few bits and pieces on her and the mast and rigging on the R C are a bit involved but nothing new planned. Running out of room to put them all .

Thanks guys, I do try. Been doing a few bits off the model for a start on the masts, the crows nests and things, but one of the few on the model is this, the rudder. I was,nt impressed with the quality of the hinges, strips of brass with holes in I would describe them as but I fitted them anyway. Put a little bit of extra on as well, black retaining bands and wood strips.

Here is one of the cannon. The only original parts here are the wheels and the barrel. .

Fitted the rudder tiller, I didnt like the way the plans made it so I had a go at carving one myself after looking through some other builds. I reckon this definately looks better .

HI there build followers. mostly been fitting guns, well fiddly they were as well but they are in now. The decks are practically finished, just the odd little bit and things that other people see and you cant .

Got a start on the bow end, a trial fit of the big lump of brass they call a figure head . It dont look too bad as it happens, not like that thing for want of a better word (and I can think up a few) supplied for the Surprise build .

Nice comments are always welcome lads. Started doing a bit on the upper levels ,mainly the bottom sections of the masts. Got this far at the minute.

This is an example of the rigging of deadeyes tip I posted in the tips forum. It looks pretty neat to my eyes.
