What with seamless welding and acoustic panelling these days, the rivets certainly place the boat within a period of time in history.

You're not wrong there. I think the thing to do and it works for me, is to work on small sections and concentrate only on those. To take everything in, the enormity of the task can seem over- whelming.

Good evening from 'The Dockyard'.

This weeks update focuses on the completion of the rivets and weld lines on the stern of my U230 U-boat build log.

The attached photo shows the next section riveted on the underside of the stern, starboard side.

This photo shows the rivets being continued on the under starboard side and also weld lines added to the hull and around the prop shaft housing.

Continuing forward I added further rivets and the hull and prop shaft housing weld lines.

The attached photo shows an under side shot showing the weld lines on both the port and starboard prop shaft housings.

I can't believe it! After 4 weeks the stern section of the boat is now complete! Woop woop!! LOL

Phew! Epic! LOL

Next week i'll be adding weld lines along the length of the lower hull and marking out the rest of the guide lines for the rivets along the mid-ships upper hull, both sides.

The week after that, I aim to add all the rivets to the mid-ships upper hull and weld lines to the saddle tanks.

AT THAT POINT, SHE'S READY FOR UNDERCOAT!!! [cue fanfare]. Cool
