Well not got a lot done while been bad but started again on the ratlines. Got one side of the main mast almost got one side of the lower main mast done and here is the progress. I did find that using the beeswax on the thread gave be a better finish as you can see fro the nest pic. Although i lie a bit of slack on the rat lines to make the look used, i do think it looks better when the thread is waxed. But will leave that down to you lot, as always all comments most welcome. Regards Foz

So here is my update. Not got a lot done but have finished the ratlines on the lower shrouds. After coating all of the knots with diluted PVA this is the result. This is by no means the best as i have seen a lot better but as my first real build that is coming to an end i am pleased with the outcome. Next i to start work on the futtlock's, so yet knots to tie when i get going again. Well that's it for now, as always any comments most welcome. Regards Foz

OK, now for some advice if it is there.
Time for me to do the "futtock shrouds",. Now the magazine does not show very good pictures or give any real detail. It just says to add 4mm dead eyes and pass them through the holes in the foremast topside.
What it does not say is how the dead eyes are secured to the shroud. As with the main shroud where they are wiped, there is nothing showing how the futtock shrouds should be done.
Does any one know of how these should be best completed.
Regards
Foz

HI Alan Thanks for looking in and your kind words, much appreciated. As for the grog, having one before i start actually helps keep me from shaking when doing the fiddly bits as i have nerve damage in my right hand and sometimes my fingers twitch like hell. Hopefully will get more done when i get home at the weekend. Regards Foz

Hi All Not much of an update as have been busy doing other things, but this is were i am now. Started on the futtock shrouds on the foremast. Now i am not really happy with how this is looking, to be honest, the magazines and the plans are not that good so am having to have a guess at how they are done. From items i have seen, some of the main shrouds have bars on to support the futtock shrouds on the main shrouds but the details in this build do not show them. I am tempted, as i do not like the look of it to re-do the foremast shrouds as they do not look that good, then start again with the futock shrouds. Will see what you all have to say about this. Regards Foz

Hi Foz, she is looking mighty fine there.... Can't really help with your problems as this is not a build I have or am doing however, there are a couple of finished builds in the Finished builds section that I think you should look at. Think you may find the answers you need there or at least it will give you an idea of how they should look.... Court Orchard's build (Andy) may be of particular interest to you..... Hope this helps you....
Best regards
Alan
