That concludes this update. I've gone from a weekly post to a fortnightly one as of late, mainly due to the fact that at the end of the first week there have been times when there isn't that much progress to share. The next job was to make the inspection plate latches. I used 0.6mm diameter x 6mm long steel bolts, cut down in length slightly and plastic strip, drilled out and also cut to length.
