Hi Peter, Thanks for looking in and the nice comments. I was getting a bit naffed with the bamboo but persistence has paid off and I`m now back to enjoying the challenge. I think in another double plank build, if bamboo is used, then I may purchase an alternative medium for the base planks. Regards delboy271155 (Derek) COME BACK GUY FAWKES "YOUR COUNTRY NEEDS YOU"

Hi All, Just had a bit of a lighter day today, away from planking. So decided to have a play with some of the smaller parts. I think it`s the beak , parts of a ship are a bit confusing to me, hey ho. If they fit together they must be the right bits, . So to that end I fitted the frame together and made up a grid to fit, Which is not glued in place as the frame needs to be stained, but it won`t fall out, so must be a good fit. Here`s the pic below, with more to follow Regards delboy271155 (Derek) delboy271155 attached the following image(s): COME BACK GUY FAWKES "YOUR COUNTRY NEEDS YOU"

Hans wrote:Nice job there Derek. like the colour. Hi Hans, Thanks for looking in and the nice comments. As for the colour, that`s a trick of the light with the camera, as it`s still in it`s natural state. I`ve still to find a match to the sapele, but will leave that until the planking is finished. Hi All, Time for an update, (even if it`s boring old planking, sorry) First pic a short update on the beaky bit Then pics of the boring planking bit. Now that`s where I am at the moment. I have 3/4 of the second planking done, just the other side/lower half of basswood planking to do. I have had a practice with the droppers and stealers in preparation for my Vic planking, but I`m not to bothered with the SoTS too much as I will be painting the hull white. Then, I can get into some of the more interesting building parts. Spray painting to try and master as well. Only problem then is, Oh Yeh, got to start planking the Vic. Oh well, practice makes perfect Regards delboy271155 (Derek) COME BACK GUY FAWKES "YOUR COUNTRY NEEDS YOU"
