Fantastic work Alan I am glad you like your new gadget. To be honest,I bought mine on this build because cutting the boxwood veneer linings was a real pain. They were too hard to cut with a scalpel and if I used the razor saw I would always get a little break out on one edge.So took the plunge and have been banging my head against the wall that I didn't buy one twenty years ago .The only thing to watch is when chopping thicker section, the cut is slightly off square,so you need to dress the end. Kind Regards Nigel

Kind Regards Nigel Thanks for the very positive comment Nigel, slow process but feel it is worth the effort..... .. Love the tool, just have to remember to keep tip of finger out of the way when cutting.... .. tool a little sliver of skin off the tip, close call but no real damage done..... .. Will watch when cutting thicker timber so thanks for the tip.... Regards Alan

Hi Alan, Lovely work! The cutting tool is a cracking device. Mine arrived yesterday, so had a play. Will be good for the deck grating surrounds with the 45 deg edges butt up against each other. Regards Claret Also working on: SOTS. Moebius 1/32 Flying Sub with PE & lights.
Waiting in the wings: Polarlights Spindrift from Land of the Giants.
finished: 007 Iconic DB5.

YeeHaa!!!!!.. Issue 41 now complete, have at long last finished the gun port lining on the starboard side.... .. Long process but very much worth the effort.... .. Now onto issue 41.... Gandale attached the following image(s):

Issue 41 gets underway and it feels so nice to being doing something other than gunport linings... .. Started by cutting free all the gallery pieces from the frets and cleaning all the black ash from the edges, did this using a fine file.. Decided at this stage I would paint the facings rather than wait until they were fitted to the stern... Gandale attached the following image(s):

Once the paint was dry I then decided what was the point of painting parts of the gallery to resemble sapele wood when I have the real thing so set about planking those sections.... .. Cut the sapele into 2mm strips and planked where it should be painted.... Very happy with it... Gandale attached the following image(s):

Also decided to change the brass mesh to a finer mesh, cut two strips and attached to the inner side of the gallery using superglue gel... Gandale attached the following image(s):
