Thanks everyone.my spraybooth is still out of action so I went back to work on the boxcar since the caboose is ready for painting. The next step for the boxcar was to install bars on the windows and grills for the vents on the front and back of the train.Next I installed the roof supports for the boxcar.I soaked the plywood roof and then taped it to a CO2 tank to get a curve on it.Once it had dried I installed it on the boxcar.I then put the boxcar and caboose on the track to see if they were the same height. darbyvet attached the following image(s):

Looking Good there Carl Cant wait to see The Jupiter once your spray booth is back in action. I have almost completed my Jupiter Build. The final step will be the build the trestle bridge. I should just about be done by Christmas

Yes I certainly agree with the "deceptively easy" bit. For the beginner it aint I must admit there where times when it was going on the back shelf but I am happy with the result so far The worst part was not having to lean new skills, I am quite good with a ponce wheel now, but those damn transfers. Anyone who has attempted this build will know what I mean.In fact I have not used some of the transfers and replaced others with brass rods shaped as necessary one mod I made was to add an additional borders of the roof of the cab to hide the join and make it a bit stronger as I have left it unglued so it can be removed to reveal the inside of the cab. This is facilitated by me not gluing on part K18. This just sits in situ but can be rotated out of the way if I want to remove the roof. Another mode is both the side windows of the cab work in so far as they can be slid open. I think the best word to describe this build is challenging Current Build:- [color=blue]Stash Avro Lancaster (Full Kit)plus some extra issues I picked up at a good price [color=blue]Built:- Norman Catapult by Mantua,Roman Catapult by Mantua,HMS Victory,HMS Victory XSection,Focker DB1,Bismark,English Carronade Titanic Lifeboat,American Civil War Gatling,Hummer,Sopwith Camel F1,Occre Jupiter ,OcCre Wagon, Latina Arab Dhow, Eaglemass Orrery OcCre Rogers 119 [color=red][color=red]RB7,OcCre Missippi River Boat, Model Airways Fokker DR1 OcCre London L>C>C 106 Ugears Scrambler, Ugears Hexapod Explorer UGears Off-Road Vehicle

More work on the boxcar.I bought some dry transfer letters to add some detail. I thought they would be easy to apply, but they were terrible. They did not transfer well so after some frustration I came up with a way to get them to work.I placed the letters onto some Tamiya tape and then I could attach them to the boxcar with the tape and keep peeling the tape back and forth checking that they hade transferred.it was pretty tedious work, but it worked pretty well. darbyvet attached the following image(s):

The caboose in being painted so I figured it was a good chance to make some signal lamps.I made them with a couple of different diameters of wood dowel, some MV lenses and Tamiya clear red and green paint. darbyvet attached the following image(s):
