Have planked the false bottom and have also painted and assembled the brake arm and shoes. Once the various straps and rods were bent to shape, holes were drilled in the straps and pins used to affix them to the wood. They were primed and painted matt black and are currently awaiting a coat of gloss black.

Nice update Al your build inspired me to start mine. Ive done a couple of wheels and half way through the planking. Its a very enjoyable build so far. Your build has helped me out a few times so thanks for that BigGrin

Finally got back to this and have now completed the false bottom by adding sapelly strips to the sides and underside.
