Hi All a few more pics of the hull,i proceaded to spray the whole hull with grey carspray undercoat then sanded it all off. This has highlighted any areas that still need some work/filler adding, esentially theses areas are around the bow and stern and look alot worse than they are in the pics below ,there are no gaps in the planking now although it looks like there is in places unless someone spots somthing iv missed .As ussual all comments are welcome regards Andy arpurchase attached the following image(s): Current builds:-C57,Zero, Lamborghini Countach, Caldercraft HMS Agamemnon,Robi,R2-D2, MFH Cobra .

Hi All A little more progress on the Yamato,i decided not to use the ply/wood strip components supplied for the boat cranes the reason being that to me they were just too out of scale and instead made replacments out of plastic card.I then proceaded to add the rails and outer fillets before glueing the deck on the hull. The inner fillets will be added when the deck is dry[more pics to follow].As ussual all comments are welcome regards Andy arpurchase attached the following image(s): Current builds:-C57,Zero, Lamborghini Countach, Caldercraft HMS Agamemnon,Robi,R2-D2, MFH Cobra .

Hi all A little more progress on the Yamato,i have now compleated the deck edge enhancment i was planing for the wooden deck area of the hull. This consists of a sandwich of wood and plastic strip,a lower strip of 3 by half a mill strip with a 2 mill strip on top then a 1 mill plastic strip on that to form the sandwich.Provision has been made also for the adding of the anti aircraft guns to the centre section when i recieve them. Also a small breakwater has been added to the bow section where the checker plate meets the wooden deck area,a simular type section has also been added to the stern where the wooden deck meets the aircraft/crane deck, finaly iv added the wooden decking edge strip before the actual decking is added. As ussual all comments/questions are welcome regards Andy arpurchase attached the following image(s): Current builds:-C57,Zero, Lamborghini Countach, Caldercraft HMS Agamemnon,Robi,R2-D2, MFH Cobra .

Hi all I have recieved the port and starbourd plans with this months issue showing the position of the port holes and deguasing cables. As im building the Yamato in its final voyage guise alot of the port holes were blanked off so il be using a mix of the suplied blanks and some open portholes iv obtained, also il be adding the third tier of portholes at the bow and stern near the waterline that are not shown on the suplied plans [ just got to work out where they are ] regards Andy arpurchase attached the following image(s): Current builds:-C57,Zero, Lamborghini Countach, Caldercraft HMS Agamemnon,Robi,R2-D2, MFH Cobra .

Hi All there will be quite a few pics with this post,as previously posted iv sprayed the hull with primer and sanded it all off to profile the hull then 2/3 coats of sanding sealer was applied before a light sanding. I then coated the hull in grey undercoat again and then on top used a yellow colour spray putty[as you sand back the putty the grey acts as an indicator your getting close to wood],the putty was built up with several thin coats every 15 minites or so untill i was satisfied i had a good even coverage. Now comes the hard work to get a good smooth finish, i used a 120 grit sand paper on the entire hull 1st, making sure any blemishes were removed [ in the pics you will see that the grey paint/wood in parts is showing]. After i was happy with the first sanding i then proceaded with the second sanding using a 320 grit super fine paper to give a finish smother than a babys bottom and last of all a light coat of grey Kure grey.As ussual all comments questions are welcome Regards Andy arpurchase attached the following image(s): Current builds:-C57,Zero, Lamborghini Countach, Caldercraft HMS Agamemnon,Robi,R2-D2, MFH Cobra .
