moving on to the beakhead,cat-tails and cannons, the doors and gunport at the beakhead are working hinges to open and shut. the cat-tails are the railings on top of the forecastle deck. total hours building 425 hours. believe me alan, my hand is no steadier,sometimes it take 3 goes to get it right.I paint with a cloth in the other hand and it's wipe and paint, till I get a decent effort going. k. thank you alan,nice of you to say so, movin' on to the bowsprit,needed tapering,but too fat to go into the lathe,so used a david plane, slowly graduated down with sandpaper,then sand sealed ready for painting,dolphins to do next(they are the bits of dowel that stick out sideways at the bow). total build time now at 455 hours.
