Great work Alan. She looks amazing. The natural wood look is great. Is most of the timber hardwood? Chris On the bench 1/350 Revell Tirpitz Platinum Edition (Pontos PE and Wooden deck) plus extra Eduard PE set and extra MK1 door sets.

Really nice work Alan, so neat and tidy and the woodwork looks stunning! Like your method for making the stowage bag, very innovative.
I'm not into model boats and ships but I do recognise a well built model when I see one and yours is a good 'un - very well done!

Thanks to everyone who looked in and commented, very much appreciated.... .. More progress has been made on this one, a lot of work and yet it doesn't look like it. Some more of the ancillary items such as the food chest, straight forward process, strange how this one has the rope handles on the lid of the chest yet no handles on the chest itself.... .. Lashing blocks and gratings have now been glued in place. Bulk of the work for this stage has been with the fitting of the ribs. These have been done from walnut strip and each rib had to be shaped to fit the profile of the hull, strips being soaked in hot water to make them more malleable. Certainly didn't want any stress being applied to any part of the hull through ill fitting ribs. Same goes for the cross supports, these were bent into shape and are held in place with pins, each pin had to be shortened to ensure there was no chance of them protruding through the other side. Once done, everything was give a couple of coats of varnish... .. Am now working on fitting the benches, will cover this in the next update..... .. Happy building all....
