Hi Blue, I dont think so because these items will be added to the Gallery frets, its more cost effective using this method, and it works out cheaper to our members. I will see how much the sign and binnacle would be on their own Regards Mike MWG BUILD DIARIES: HMS VICTORY, SOVEREIGN OF THE SEAS, SAN FRANCISCO II, HMS HOOD, HMS ENDEAVOUR LONGBOAT, HMS VICTORY X-SECTION, 007 DB5, NISSAN GTR, CUTTY SARK, RB7, AKAGI, BARK HMS ENDEAVOUR, HUMMER H1, MITSUBISHI ZERO.

Hi Mike, After some calculations I found that the proportions of the windows in relation to the space between them, in the vertical line, is incorrect in the DeAgostini build. I compared the yellow acetate of DeAgostini with a photo of the real Victory. In a copy of the yellow acetate I draw the windows in the proportions of the real Victory and there are substantial differences. Now I am wondering what measurements you are using for your Balustrades ? The Deagostini measurements or the real measurements ? Hi Jan thank you for your input, untill we have made all the final measurements and finished the plans I cannot give you a definitive answer, save to say we will be aiming to be as close to the real Victory as possible, but please remember we have to work within the perameters of the existing series gallery, I will know in a couple of weeks Thank you for your question Regards Mike MWG BUILD DIARIES: HMS VICTORY, SOVEREIGN OF THE SEAS, SAN FRANCISCO II, HMS HOOD, HMS ENDEAVOUR LONGBOAT, HMS VICTORY X-SECTION, 007 DB5, NISSAN GTR, CUTTY SARK, RB7, AKAGI, BARK HMS ENDEAVOUR, HUMMER H1, MITSUBISHI ZERO.

Hi Jason thanks for the question, the lead time from ordering to finished production is 3/4 weeks (so not to bad) The buckets will be a further project but if there are no buckets in the series, I see no reason why we could not include them in the pack I will keep you posted. IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT UPDATE TO ALL MEMBERS Hi Team here is the definitive outcome of this project. We have taken a good look at the quarter gallery and Transom of the Victory, and although we can make something which looks far better than the supplied timber parts, it will be impossible to create something that is entirely accurate whilst working within the confines of the overall shape/size of these timber parts, so these will be discarded and the Gallery sides and Transom will be made entirely of etched brass parts, two layers of brass of thickness .3 of a millimetre each it may be necessary for one layer to be .5 of a mm. We have not started on drawings yet as we need to discuss the issue of cost with you, for the sake of good order this is what we will be supplying to each member who orders:- 1) Complete Transom and quarter gallery parts, as two skins for each assembly, made entirly of etched brass as stated above. 2) The etched brass sheet will contain the Binnacle parts. 3) The etched brass sheet will contain the Ships Victory name plate. The cost is likely to be in the region of £60.00 to £80.00 inc vat.(plus P&P) We require 20 members to commit to order, and to send a nonrefundable deposit of £10.00 (this covers the prodution of the plans etc)this deposit will be credited to a members order when their final payment is made (for example say cost to a member is £80.00 member pays £10.00 deposit, final payment will be £70.00)This is a non-refundable deposit regardless of weather the project goes ahead or not and covers the cost of producing the plans as above. PLEASE NOTE. The build tolerance of members builds will vary and you may need to make adjustments to fit the enhancement. From the prodution of the plans manufacture will be complete within 4 weeks. DEAGOSTINI DO NOT HAVE ANY LIABILITY REGARDING THIS PROJECT, AND HAVE NO RESPONSIBLITY WHATSOEVER Those members who wish to go ahead, please wait for an email from us, as we have a list of interested members. If you are not on the list then can you please PM me. Hi Mike, As your PM in-box is full,I decided to post the reply on the forum. I am still wanting to go ahead with the gallery enhancement, but after reading your latest post, can I ask - being a newbie and not very experienced in wooden ship modeling - will there be any instructions/plans to explain/show how the DeAg build should be adapted to incorporate this enhancement. Can you also let me know how you would like the deposit to be paid to you. Thanks again David

Mike, The original estamate was "no more than £50", seems a big leap to £80? is there a particular reason? have extra parts been added (ships wheel, binacle etc), or is it just design & production costs are a lot higher than expected? I've waited this long so will still be buying, just a bit sad that I've got yet another increased bill to pay! shame wages don't go up as quick!! Jeff

Hi Jeff,Thank you for your input, The price range is £60 to £80 including vat + postage and packing I hope we can deliver nearer the £60 figure, but the vat is a large content, but we will do our best The reason for the increase over the original estimate, is due to the enhancement using two layers of brass instead of 1. The Gallery will be alot more substantial than originaly planned.plus we have included the Binnacle and ships name all in the price, these items will not be sold seperatly, they can only be obtained exclusivly with the Gallery Enhancement. It has been 6 months in the making, and alot of work has been put into it, by some dedicated people, not long to go now. I hope the explanation helps. Thank you for your support. Kind regards Mike PS the ships wheel is a stand alone project, as is the Boarding Pikes and the Fire Buckets. That's fine Mike, I did'nt realise until I was trawling through the posts yesterday how long it is since you initiated the project, (time flies when your enjoying yourself), although I'm itching to get the parts now! Obviously, these things are not lying about on a shelf somwhere, they need to be designed to the scale of this ship then machinery and cutting tools made and set up for manufacture and finaly getting the finished product to the customer. 'All in all' a lot of time and effort for what is a major project and in the end will be a fine enhancement. Well done Mike and thanks for your efforts. Jeff

Hi mates,
I have followed this thread for a while and I may be interested. But to be honest 80 pound are quite a bunch of money to me. Still cannot figure out what exact the detail pack contains as I am having hard times to translate all the special naval terms into german. @Mike: Do you have any images of your enhancements ? Pictures tell more than words.
I will stay tuned and may order later on.
Cheers, TimmMy build diary hereCurrent Build:HMS Victory
